  1. I am one year out today. Have lost a total of 134 pounds. I went from a size 26 to size 8 pant and am 18 pounds from my goal weight. My blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels are all in normal range. I feel great and have more energy then I've had in years. The past year had its ups and downs. I have had times of failure and times of success. I contoured my emotional eating while assisting caring for and then dealing with the death of my father in law. I walked/ran my first 5k. I spent the summer going to Water parks and doing other activities with my kids I would have not done prior to this journey. I workout 6-7 days a week. I walk anywhere from 30-60 minutes a day 5 days a week, pilates and yoga once a week each (on the days I don't strength train) , and strength training 3 days a week (just added strength training last month) I have and still battle my carb cravings. Sometimes I give in and lose the battle other times I succeed in the fight. I always start new the next day. I have my problem areas. Areas of my body that I'm not happy with due to the saggy skin but I'm hopeful that I can work then off with the strength training. I am so glad that I did this. It has given me my life back. I would not change it for the world.

    I feel awesome. Better then I can ever remember feeling. Yeah ups and downs are all part of life. This tool helps make couping with the downs easier. Thanks for the encouragement.

    Gym workout! Help!

    If they're anything like mine. They'll be flapjacks and can no longer do any damage. I personally love running now. When I was younger and slimmer I hated anything physically active. But now I'm really enjoying running. I can't run for very long time but I do enjoy it while I can. I'm 130 pounds down and 19 from my original goal.

  14. I've already had my sleeve procedure done but I live in Round Rock. Also, I'm the new bariatricpal local chapter leader for the Austin area. We have support group meetings once a month. Our next meeting will be 7/12 @11am at Walnut Creek Park on North Lamar Blvd. At the picnic tables near the playscapes. If your feeling up to it you can come on out. Just let me know so I can make sure we have enough seating. Thanks

    legs legs legs!

    I've lost 124 in 10 months and I can say that my thighs are till huge. But my calves are looking much better. But they didn't start looking better until I added running and 5k running/walking training and T25 workout program into the mix. I just started noticing the difference a couple weeks ago. You'll get there but it might just take time. Good Luck

    I'm sorry your family is going through this. My family went through it very recently as well. The list Butterflyhigh gave is a good list. You will also need to check on the price of opening and closing the grave site. It can be quite pricy and can only be paid after death (at least in Texas anyway). Also, the casket is the biggest expense of a funeral. You might ask what your other options are. My father in law had all of his arrangements made ahead of time. He chose to be viewed in a nice casket like everyone else but he was actually buried in a cement tomb type of casket. We knew this going into it and therefore arranged a private family burial instead of a grave side service. We had his viewing and funeral ceremony at the funeral home that was open to public and then a private procession and grave side service. Next to cremation it appears to be the cheapest arrangement. Prayers coming your way.

    What is your theme song?

    I'm all about Roar by Katy Perry these days. Also on my list is Firework, Stronger, This Girl is on Fire, and strangely enough Radioactive and Demons. The last two mainly because I'm trying to improve me over all not just my weight issues. And those two songs speak to me loud and clear.
  19. What about unjury Protrein shakes? I do not know much about Kosher or vegetarianism but the classic chocolate has the following ingredients. Ingredients: Whey Protein Isolate, Fructose, Cocoa powder (Alkali Processed), Natural and Artificial Flavors, Soy Lecithin, Xanthan Gum, Sea Salt, Aspartame, Acesulfame Potassium, Potassium Chloride. Their website gives the ingredients to their protein powders. You can check them out and see if the ingredients are up to par for you. I hope you find what your looking for.
  20. Oh Sweetie, you do not need her in your life. Let her live her life as she sees fit. Don't read her blogs or allow mutual friends to discuss her. You worry about you and what you need to do for you.
