August Sleevers...how are you doing? Any friends near Monterey?
411angela replied to MontereyMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey! I was sleeved 8/12. HW-242, SW-222, CW 180! The holidays are tough! On a Thanksgiving I ate! I was actually surprised that I could eat the variety of foods I ate! Traditionally, I carry food home from my moms but as hard as it was, I didn't bring home any goodies and the next two days I did all shakes just to help me get back in control. I've always been an all or nothing kinda girl. I'm trying to stay away from the sweets and breads, etc because if I allow myself to have a little, I'm afraid I'll go back to my old ways of wanting more! I wish you the best! I think I've turned my food addiction to a shopping addiction! I'm loving my sleeve! -

Sounds good! I'll have to try them out!

I'm 45lbs down and feel so much better! I started this process at 242 lbs. I lost 20 lbs during my preop diet and am down 25 lbs post op. I had a 3 to 4 week stall at 3 weeks which was so frustrating but eventually the weight started coming off again. I'm 5'8 and have finally made it to onderland!! Current weight 197. My NUT set my goal as 153 in 10 months. I don't think I've weighed that since elementary school! Can't wait to see what I'll look like! I'm sure enjoying the journey! I don't post often but often read others posts which have been so helpful! Thanks for the support!!

Thanks everyone!! :-)

Thanks!!! Don't give up! I remember taking off from work one day, crying as I completed the doctors survey for the sleeve. I felt so helpless and disappointed in myself. I've struggled with my weight my entire life. Now I feel like I have control back! I wish you the best in your journey!

Stall for TWO weeks?
411angela replied to reno1128's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been stalled for about 3 weeks now! I've lost a pound in three weeks! So aggravating! My clothes are fitting looser which I appreciate but it still bothers me that my scale won't move! I lost 20 lbs during pre-op, DOS 8/12/13, SW- 222, CW-206. I wish I would have measured at the start of my journey! Hang in there, hopefully we'll see the scale drop soon! -
Wow! You look great!!

August sleevers up dates. ..?
411angela replied to rossy222@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery August 12th. I guess I've been a slower loser post surgery than many on here. I've lost 14 lbs since surgery but lost 20 lbs pre-op so I'm proud to be 34 lbs down, getting into clothes that I haven't been able to wear in a while, my labs look great, and I'm off my blood pressure medicine!!! I'm on purée foods and I'm tolerating them well. I could always improve my water intake. I also need to exercise ( story of my life). Only problem I've really had is becoming lightheaded at times. Jumping up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night has been a little scary. I guess I need to sit up a minute first because I've felt like I was going to pass out a few times. I'm not sure if that's due to not getting enough water or calories or what?? -
I'm about 3 weeks out and I've been experiencing this too, especially today. I'm trying to get my fluids in and I think I'll get my blood pressure checked tomorrow. It's a bit scary!

I'm 2 1/2 weeks post op and am curious if I can have diet green tea. I bought a 20 oz bottle thinking its not carbonated but the bubbles at the top made me a little nervous. Thoughts anyone?
-
The bottle doesn't state if its carbonated or not but there is caffeine in it. I best just stay away from it! I don't remember my NUT mentioning caffeine just carbonated drinks but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

I haven't tried yet but my discharge papers say to give them a two week period to expedite. I guess I should start working on getting mine. Sorry to hear that you are having some pain. -
So many people here have skinny faces!

I always gain and lose in my face first! But.. I've mastered how to hold the camera just right with my head tilted up to tighten up my double chin! Lol! I can't wait until the day that I don't have to worry about it!!! -
New guy here, you've GOT to read this!

Congratulations! That's an awesome accomplishment!! You look great! Your successful weight loss journey is definitely an inspiration! -
Yea, I didn't really tell people at work. I just took a week of vacation. Luckily I pretty much have a desk job and can work at my own pace. I'm more worried about my job as a momma! But I'll be trying to take it easy. Thanks! :-)

I had surgery on Monday. I've done pretty well. I've had a little pain in my lower left side since yesterday afternoon. I'm hoping this will get better after they take the drain out. I've been walking too. I'll get the drain out and the leak test In about an hour. Then I'm headed back to the states! Time has flown by! I'm sure hoping I'm doing really well by Monday. It will be my kids first day back to school and I'll be returning back to work. Best wishes to all!

I made it through surgery well yesterday. I'm back at the hotel relaxing today. So far I don't really think I've had much of the gas pain just a little pain in my tummy area but not bad. Since I had my surgery in Mexico, I just met with my nutritionist for the first time yesterday. I'm 5'8 and was at 442 pre pre-op diet, 222 on surgery date and her goal for me is 153! I don't think I've weighed that since junior high! I can't imagine what I will look like at that weight but I'm excited to find out!! I hope everyone else is doing well!! I truly felt at ease through this surgery process thanks to everyone on here for sharing their experiences!

I've made it to Mexico and am safe and sound at the Marriott! Tomorrow is the big day! I'll be picked up at 6:30am to go to the OCC! I can't believe the day has finally arrived! I wish all my fellow 8/12 sleevers the best!!

Anyone else getting sleeved in August?
411angela replied to Living4Me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me! My surgery is on the 12th. Starting my pre-op diet tomorrow!! I woke up thinking "Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life!" It's time to truly make a lifestyle change! I've made a realization that not only will I change the way I eat, and start exercising, but I need to work on loving me for me, regardless of my looks. I am my own worst critic. Although we have some possible struggles ahead of us, I'm so excited to start the journey! I wish everyone the best as we begin our pre-op diets and upcoming surgery! -
You look great!
