  1. Trying not to freak out but I started having some abdominal cramping a few days ago and it's become pretty painful. I'm pretty sure it's gas pain but of course all the scary thoughts are going thorough my mind. Had a mild fever last night but also felt stuffy. No fever this morning and don't feel like I'm coming down with anything major. Before I waste time at doc or ER for dumb gas pain, please tell me what this might be and how to get rid of the pain. I've tried Gas X and it helps a little may be... Haven't been able to have a good poo in a couple if days either so I'm sure that's a contributing factor. Thanks for talking a girl out of a tree!
  2. Yup! After some X-rays the culprit is a need for a few BMs. Can't believe the pain that can cause, I was preparing for some major issue!

    Wine

    6 weeks
  4. I took a digger while running last week (not quite 6 weeks at that time) I had the same fear plus I though I might haved popped a boob!!! Luckily, it doesn't seem as though anything is permanently damaged. I wonder if our surgery causes klutzy tendencies???

    I lied.

I admit I discriminate, but it's for the life of the fish... I can't be trusted with a pet that is fragile, I need something a little more robust and perhaps with a more "in your face" personality. I'm likely to forget to feed the poor little nugget otherwise.

    Nightmares and worries

My BMI was slightly lower than yours (I've been higher than where I started this time) and I've lost 25 LBs in just under 6 weeks. Some might consider this "slow", I think that's funny. I will take an average of 4LBs per week anytime!!! Definitely lost very quickly the first 2 weeks and I'm guessing 1-3 per week from here onward.

  11. Luckily it's not until October 20th!!!! Lots of time to get into shape and get some mileage in.
  12. After years of trying my luck to get an invitation, I'm in!!!!!! Just doing the half, haven't done one in over 3 years (and hip surgery since then too). Game on! BTW, I just tried out a new app, Runtastic. Had to load in my version of C25K intervals but I really love this app. It synchs with my Mio HRM and then with MyFitnessPal upon completion. It's pretty slick. Sometimes a new gadget helps with motivation:-)
  13. I can sympathize!!! Just did my day 1, first post op jog... Denver is a lot lower in altitude than Breck and it was not easy! But it's done, the seal is broken.
  14. This is useless because I can't speak from my own experience but... My sister had a tummy tuck with major hernia repair, she was in pain for many days and couldn't stand up straight. She wouldn't let anyone get her out of the hospital bed but me! She could be a total wimp though. It would make sense that skin removal with less muscle repair would be less painful, we use ab muscles for every movement...
  15. Day 2 is much better, as is everyday thereafter!!!

    Sleeved april 8th

"Only" 45 LBs in 11 weeks??? I'd be throwing myself a massive party!!!
  17. I was freaking out in a hospital in TJ!!! Twenty two LBs down (no pre op diet and spent almost a week where the scale wouldn't budge an ounce)!!!! This is better than HCG (still can't believe I shot myself up with that shiz). Woo hooooo! Even took a shopping trip... Just in my closet but it was uplifting!!! I have not told anyone besides my Dad so giving myself a little shout out here is fun! Thanks to all of you fun and inspirational cyber team members...
  18. Poooooop!!! I just had to get that out there (no pun intended). I'm 1 month post op on Monday and so it's such a welcome occurrence. Apologies for the interruption, please carry on...

    good and effective hamstring stretches?

Great idea having your wife help. Assisted stretching is great. Couple of suggestions to try, see what works... 1) don't worry about having your leg completely straight, slight bend in the knee may end up being more effective in the beginning 2) There are schools of thought that resistance/muscle contraction can help to improve flexibility. So, do your stretch, hold 10-15 seconds, then press your heel into your wife's hands to contract the hammies, hold 5-10 seconds, stretch again... See how that feels. If it ends up causing muscle cramping during the contraction, abort the mission and revert back to your original plan!
  20. Breck is amazing!!! Great time to visit!
  21. I live in CO, I've been here for over 10 years and I still blame the altitude!!!
  22. omfg!!! Please excuse my French, but that is hilarious!!!
