I still struggle with....(fill in the blanks)
Sheddie replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still struggle with ....wanting (in my head) diet coke! I had GS surgery in May 2013. I gave up diet coke at end of March cold turkey ( weaning off didn't work for me). I did not realize I was addicted to diet coke until this surgery. It is still very hard, but I am staying strong and not giving in. I work on water, protein, and supplements. -

Sheddie replied to Im14fun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, thank you to all who posted about stalls. However, being a newbie when mine hit... I panicked, but thanks to posts/support didn't give up. I stalled weeks five and six, but going into week 7..... I have lost 3 pounds. Wohooo!!!! At least now I know I can work through the stalls and still continue to do my best. Hang in there Im14fun, you can do this!!!! -
I slept with a king size pillow on each side from 2nd night, throwing leg over whichever side I was on, by 4th night I was on my stomach ( with no pain meds).

Woohoo!!!! One day I will be there!!! Note: even though I am not sure really what my goal should be, I just picked a number. ???? -

Sleeved 5/29. Total loss 36 pounds (24 since surgery, 12 pre-op). Remained same for two weeks. I know I didn't gain it all overnight, and it won't come off overnight. Just a little sad though because I liked how the losses were feeling. Still following plan, exercising, and increasing protein and water. Yay me!!! Best wishes to my fellow sleevers for a great weekend and week next week!

I am sick of protein shakes!
Sheddie replied to Ytsepam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found Cellucor super sport at GNC it is a performance isolated whey Protein. It has 30 grams protein per serving and when mixed with skim or 2% milk that adds 8 more grams of protein. Anyway, I bought vanilla based on info from clerk and it taste just like blue bell vanilla no sugar added ice cream. No joke!!! I loved it. It is very smooth and no chalky taste or after taste. They also have milk chocolate in that same brand and the clerk told me if you mix it with almond milk it taste like having a glass of chocolate milk made with quick. Note: if you have a GNC near you, go in and talk with them about what is going on, they are trained to help with that and most of them use the products (the guys and girls at my GNC are great helps). Hang in there!!!! -

My doctor recommended Prevacid 24 hr. I take the Walmart generic version and it has been fine. Hope that helps. -
Need Advice from VSG friends
Sheddie replied to Sheddie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you all for your support!!! I have worked on increasing water and protein the last two days. Sticking to my program. Thanks again. -
First and foremost, I am so thankful that I was able to have the VSG procedure. Secondly I have had a very good recovery period (few little issues but nothing major). Third, I have great spousal support and family/friend support. (Please know I am not bragging just giving background information. I have lost 36 pounds total (24 since surgery 5/29/13 and 12 pre-op liquid diet). Here is my issue: I feel like I have stalled with my weightloss. I have read an article about the 3 week stall. I will be 5 weeks Wednesday. Wondering if my stall is now? I have just recently (last week - returned to my gym (healthplex through my local hospital) had great session talking with staff and setting up my routine). I will be starting back full time this week. I am following my WL Clinics guidelines in regards to diet - getting in my Protein (on the lower end 60 grams) and Water (on the lower end 64 oz - sometimes little under) What can I do to start seeing a loss again? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Note - I weigh once a week on Tuesday's and occassionly on Monday morning to see if I am on track for Tuesday's official weigh in (that is day I record and measure and yes I have had inches lost). Am I just being impatient because I am so excited about the weight loss I have seen thus far? Thanks in advance for reading and letting me vent/whine. I know this is a hard journey!!!

I am one week four days post op from surgery. Yesterday I noticed my incision sites were beginning to itch a little, well this morning I am in FULL ON ITCH mode. I know this is a sign of healing and good news, but I can barely stand it. I know I can't scratch the sites (and I still have some steri strips on incisions). Some of you surgery veterans ahead of me...did you have this issue and how did you get through it? Any suggestions are appreciated.

2 days out and blah...
Sheddie replied to superstarsandi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At superstarsandi... My surgery was Wed morning also. I like you have not been in unmanageable pain, but have been so nauseated. Dr' s office said it could still be anesthesia or post nasal drip. I was instructed to take a Zyrtec and force water when could to push post nasal drip up and out and take the allergy medicine to dry it up. Seemed to help somewhat yesterday. Today has been little better,I am beginning to tolerate fluids and protein. Let me know if you find a cure for it because I hate being nauseated worse than anything.
