WeeWers here: Sadly, we don't have one. I have not been able to get over our Aussie who died 11 years ago. Tucker was ten, being his using playful self, and then the very next day -- he was lying on the floor, unable to get up, bleeding from his mouth. I'm crying as I write. I don't think I could take the loss of losing another dog. It still just tears me up. On a happier note, I'll bet lots of you have a beloved pet/s that you can tell us about -- and hopefully show us some pics!! warmly, WeeWers

Is there anyone here who is over 60 who has to lose more than 100 lbs.?
WeeWers posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello, I'm WeeWers and I'm 60 and need to lose 165 pounds. My age and the *amount* of weight I have to lose -- well, I'm hoping to find a buddy in similar shoes. Anyone out there?? Blessings, WeeWers -
And if you are post-op, can you share your status? (how long ago surg. how much have you lost, any complication?

Vena Cava Filter, did you decide against it?
WeeWers posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had a DVT (right calf) and a Lung Clot. My doctor said it was "up to me whether or not I get a filter." I didn't like that. HE should be driving the car! Has anyone with a prior blood clot decided against the filter? If so, how come? Responses much appreciated, WeeWers -
Hello, My name is WeeWers and I'll be 60 in August. I'm 305 (and climbing) and am 5-6. My goal is 140 That's needing to lose 165 pounds!!! I will look like a pole with hanging skin everywhere!! I thought that was a very good discussion about the ol' hanging skin issue. Better to be thin and healthy -- than fat and unhealthy. I have been at this forum for 4 weeks and I have not made one friend yet. I love the size of this group and the fact that 60+ folks just have a different platform. I feel like I'm among people I can be open with. I want to support others on their journey's also. I'm not here just to 'take.' I think I have done all the required "hoop-jumping" and I see my surgeon for the first time this Monday. I pray that he won't require more hoops for me and that my surgery can be scheduled very soon. (that's what *everyone* wants) May I let you guys know how the visit went. Do you guys share such teeny things? I don't have a real dynamic post that would get a lot of replies -- but I'm so glad to be here and hope we can get to know each other! warmly~ WeeWers

Hi There, I'm a born-again Believer who is 2 months pre-op looking for a buddy. I'm hoping to find someone who has lost a lot of weight and things have gone reasonably well ! I am 5-6 and weigh 300 pounds. My goal is 140. I struggle with depression due to my weight and an auto-immune disease with degenerative joints -- which keeps me home-bound except for the many doc apps. I would want to extend support to you in how-ever you would like. I am not looking just to take! I pray the Lord leads us to just the right match!! Bless you, WeeWers

Does It Always Have To Be That Way?
WeeWers posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, I was sleeved 7 weeks ago and have been losing slowly but steadily. I have read several topics that say the further out one is from their surgery -- the more difficult it is to stick to it. That the newness wears off and after awhile you are just left with old ingrained habits that get more difficult to manage as time goes on. This is very scarey to me. I had thought that the physical restriction of having the small stomach would insure long-term sucess. But I read many others where this is not the case. Will power is still required. I have lost 40 pounds but have always had terrible will-power. This surgery was/is my last hope. I was over 300 pounds. My cardiologist said I was a heart-attack waiting to happen. I could not make it up a flight of stairs. Does it always get harder the further out you are from your surgery? Blessings, WeeWers -
7 Weeks Post Op and very very nausiated --- please help!
WeeWers posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wake up very nauseous. I go throughout the day nauseous. I'm on Zofrin for the nausea from my primary care doc, and called my sleeve doc to tell about the nausea, and he perscribed Phenergan -- which helps some with the nausea but puts me to sleep. Am I alone with this constant nausea? Do other folks deal with this?? Any input VERY appreciated! Blessings, WeeWers -
Are you getting the kind of compliments you were hoping for? I'm pre-op -- so it doesn't apply to me :o) WeeWers

CLOSED September Sleeve Group - this feels awful!
WeeWers posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm being sleeved in the morning. I saw that several people were also having September surgeries. I was looking forward to fellow-shipping with other Septemberites, so I posted that I would like to be. I was told the "group was closed"! I'm wondering whose decision it was to make a closed group. Do you mind coming forth so we can talk and I can understand? Close a group?? I thought this forum would be welcoming, not rejecting ( Are there any other September sleepers who are not in this exclusionary group? sadly, WeeWers -
Do most folks experience nausea after surgery? If so, what helped you. I'm having my sleeve in the morning. Quite nervous over here! WeeWers

WeeWers here: Caspanelli asked what are ways we get through a stall. Being pre-op I'm of no knowledge here. I *do* know I think it would be quite devastating -- especially if it went on more that a few days. I would immediately think I was doing something to cause the stall! Stalls sound AWFUL !!

3 weeks Pureed food Need Suggestions
WeeWers replied to alpleasant's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your nutritionist knows alot more about what is and isn't ok to eat at any phase. How about asking her ) WeeWers -
Oh dear-heart, I'm in the same position you are in and my surgery is this Monday!! I posted something similar to what you did and I got one response that helped. PJ said that after the surgery we will want different things, that a certain hormone is reduced (or removed?) which should help with the hunger. If any of us didn't have a problem with over-eating, and eating the wrong things, we wouldn't need this surgery. Your post was very vulnerable and I'll bet you get alot of supportive replies -- don't let judgemental posts get you down. Don't even respond to them. You will do well. Keep your eye on the ball and expect good things. WeeWers

September 2013 Sleevers :)
WeeWers replied to CantHateYourselfThin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is there a way for the September Folks to stay current with each other? I mean, do you have to just pick through the posts -- or is there a centralized communication that folks can do? WeeWers -
If you did poorly on the pre-op diet, did it affect your sucess afterwards?
WeeWers replied to WeeWers's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you're fine. I would try to follow the pre-op diet as close as possible; but, I'm sure you're not the only one to make a slip. I do not believe you're setting yourself up to fail post-op. After surgery, I'm thinking you will not want that stuff anymore anyway. Many doctors put patients on a strict liquid diet pre-op. But mine lets me eat small breakfast, Protein shake lunch and a decent dinner with lean meat and green vegetable. So, I think you're fine. Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words. You epitimize what this forum should be all about. WeeWers -
Feeling very insecure -- needing a mentor please
WeeWers posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello, I hope I'm posting this at the right place. My surgery is this Monday (16th) and I need to lose 155 pounds. I'm hoping to find a mentor who has lost a lot of weight and is at goal. I want to learn from you, and maybe lean on you a bit if I get a bit shaky. The area you live in doesn't matter. I can't *wait* to have a mentor!!! WeeWers -

There was a lady who has a coffee shop who wanted to start a Charlotte support group. Does anyone know who she is? WeeWers -

WeeWers replied to WeeWers's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Jersy Girl, I think if you go back and re-read my post -- you will see that I was NOT asking people to tell me it's ok not to follow their docs orders. That was quite a leap. WeeWers -
Hello, I'm in Huntersville, NC and would like to know how the support group is going ) WeeWers

Charlotte residents, should I change from Dr. Pirello to Dr. Heider?
WeeWers posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dr. Pirello has all my records in, but all could be faxed to Dr. Heider. I keep hearing that folks think highly of Dr. Pirello, but he was *very* rude to me, and cold. I think it must be me and that he just doesn't like me for some reason. I'm concerned he won't do as good a job with me as he has with others. I've heard Dr. Heider is *very* warm and friendly. Would you change? worried, WeeWers
