  1. Hello, I was sleeved 7 weeks ago and have been losing slowly but steadily. I have read several topics that say the further out one is from their surgery -- the more difficult it is to stick to it. That the newness wears off and after awhile you are just left with old ingrained habits that get more difficult to manage as time goes on. This is very scarey to me. I had thought that the physical restriction of having the small stomach would insure long-term sucess. But I read many others where this is not the case. Will power is still required. I have lost 40 pounds but have always had terrible will-power. This surgery was/is my last hope. I was over 300 pounds. My cardiologist said I was a heart-attack waiting to happen. I could not make it up a flight of stairs. Does it always get harder the further out you are from your surgery? Blessings, WeeWers
  2. I wake up very nauseous. I go throughout the day nauseous. I'm on Zofrin for the nausea from my primary care doc, and called my sleeve doc to tell about the nausea, and he perscribed Phenergan -- which helps some with the nausea but puts me to sleep. Am I alone with this constant nausea? Do other folks deal with this?? Any input VERY appreciated! Blessings, WeeWers
  3. Do most folks experience nausea after surgery? If so, what helped you. I'm having my sleeve in the morning. Quite nervous over here! WeeWers
  4. I'm being sleeved in the morning. I saw that several people were also having September surgeries. I was looking forward to fellow-shipping with other Septemberites, so I posted that I would like to be. I was told the "group was closed"! I'm wondering whose decision it was to make a closed group. Do you mind coming forth so we can talk and I can understand? Close a group?? I thought this forum would be welcoming, not rejecting ( Are there any other September sleepers who are not in this exclusionary group? sadly, WeeWers
  5. Your nutritionist knows alot more about what is and isn't ok to eat at any phase. How about asking her ) WeeWers

    Im not ready

Oh dear-heart, I'm in the same position you are in and my surgery is this Monday!! I posted something similar to what you did and I got one response that helped. PJ said that after the surgery we will want different things, that a certain hormone is reduced (or removed?) which should help with the hunger. If any of us didn't have a problem with over-eating, and eating the wrong things, we wouldn't need this surgery. Your post was very vulnerable and I'll bet you get alot of supportive replies -- don't let judgemental posts get you down. Don't even respond to them. You will do well. Keep your eye on the ball and expect good things. WeeWers

    September 2013 Sleevers :)

Is there a way for the September Folks to stay current with each other? I mean, do you have to just pick through the posts -- or is there a centralized communication that folks can do? WeeWers
  8. I think you're fine. I would try to follow the pre-op diet as close as possible; but, I'm sure you're not the only one to make a slip. I do not believe you're setting yourself up to fail post-op. After surgery, I'm thinking you will not want that stuff anymore anyway. Many doctors put patients on a strict liquid diet pre-op. But mine lets me eat small breakfast, Protein shake lunch and a decent dinner with lean meat and green vegetable. So, I think you're fine. Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words. You epitimize what this forum should be all about. WeeWers
  9. There was a lady who has a coffee shop who wanted to start a Charlotte support group. Does anyone know who she is? WeeWers
  10. Hello Jersy Girl, I think if you go back and re-read my post -- you will see that I was NOT asking people to tell me it's ok not to follow their docs orders. That was quite a leap. WeeWers
  11. Hello, I hope I'm posting this at the right place. My surgery is this Monday (16th) and I need to lose 155 pounds. I'm hoping to find a mentor who has lost a lot of weight and is at goal. I want to learn from you, and maybe lean on you a bit if I get a bit shaky. The area you live in doesn't matter. I can't *wait* to have a mentor!!! WeeWers

Hello, I'm in Huntersville, NC and would like to know how the support group is going ) WeeWers
  13. Hello All, My doc wanted me to do a 3 week pre-op liquid diet. I feel shame and discouragement that that means I'll do poorly post op -- and not do well losing the weight! Has anyone ever done well losing weight who did poorly on the pre-op diet? Thank you, WeeWers
  14. WOW! All these great September folks. I'm September 16th. This Monday. I'm scared and excited also! I'm from North Carolina. WeeWers
