  1. I have been using My Fitness Pal. It integrates well with the FitBit thingy and tracks everything I need to track. I use it on my laptop but I also have it on my iPhone.
  2. Just got approved yesterday for surgery on Sept 4 in St Louis. Very excited to begin this new journey but also kinda terrified. Keep asking myself if I've lost my mind and am really planning on having 85% of my stomach ripped out of me. Then I keep telling myself - this is probably the sanest thing I've done in quite some time. And that I spent 58 years abusing myself, I can learn to be kind to me for my remaining years (I hope it's not 58!!). Anticipation of what I shall be is winning out over the sheer terror.

    Waiting on Approval from Aetna

My Aetna paperwork was submitted on 8-13/13 and I was approved n 8-22/13.
  4. My surgery is scheduled for Sept 4 at SSM DePaul Hospital in St Louis. Dr Morales requires a liquid diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery. I negotiated down to 10 days and today is day 1. Not too bad today - the only downside I can see right now is having to haul all this liquid to work. It'll all work out.
  5. Hi - sorry for the late response but just stumbled across this thread. My surgery date is Sept 4 at DePaul. They have a support group that meets every third Wednesday of the month at 5:30. I forget the room number but I bet if you called they'd provide. Perhaps we will meet up there one day!!

    StL?

Hi - I'm from St Peters. Just got my surgery date yesterday - Sept 4. Began the liquid diet today. Going through Dr Morales at DePaul. They kept telling me about the support group that meets the third Wednesday of every month at 5:30. Unfortunately, I kept forgetting so I've not been to one yet. Good luck and perhaps we'll see each other at one of the meetings.
  7. For years I had been toying around with gastric bypass surgery - as I watched myself get bigger and bigger. Then last Oct I flunked a pre-op EKG and next thing I know I'm having quintuple bypass surgery. As soon as I was cleared by my cardiologist & surgeon, I began this process. After researching all the surgical options, I've settled on the VSG as being perfect for my situation. One more Dr, nutritionist, nurse, and psychologist visit and I get submitted for final insurance approval. Beginning to get excited about this journey!!
