  1. I love crossing posts where you both have been! You gals are brutally honest and it's very refreshing. Keep up the food work

    Wow! You look amazing!

    100 pounds down

Has your husband seen you since you've dropped 100 pounds??? Great job, you look fantastic! And that top is very flattering on you!
  4. How did you know the sleeve was right for you? I was convinced it is the right surgery for me and then I started researching the RNY and DS for the hubs and now I'm not so sure! I'm going crazy thinking maybe I won't lose as much weight with the sleeve. And that possibly I won't have enough restriction. But the though of re-routing my intestines scares me half to death! ...I've been reading all of your posts for a long while now and I know most of you are having great success. I'm just scared that the sleeve might not be drastic enough to make me change my ways! Am I crazy?!

    New Addition to the Fam

    Congrats to your family!
  6. Exactly! And you're getting probably 4 or 5 outfits (or more!) for the price of one pair of pants from LB or Avenue!
  7. Take a bag with you every time you go to Goodwill. Then when you come home with another bag, you'll have space for it! And you're recycling!
  8. I have deciede on Dr. Alvarez as a backup if I can't get insurance approval. Don't let them get you down! There are a TON of MX success stories and a huge percentage of those are Dr. Alvarez.
  9. I am 5'9" and 343 myself, so very close to your stats! I wish you the very best of luck with your surgery!
  10. ...and you look great btw! You look 15 years younger too! And your pre-op weight/height is very close to mine.
  11. Thanks for your reply and WAY TO GO on your success! Congrats on your weight loss!
  12. Great article! Thanks so much for posting this.
  13. What I mean is, Ive read you have more restriction with the DS and RNY. The sleeve may not restrict my portions as much as the other two. My concern is that I will still be able to eat larger amount in a sitting, which is my problem now. As far as binge-eating and slider foods, MY HEAD IS IN THE GAME! I would never decide on WLS if I thought I couldn't handle making the right food choices post-op. The AM I CRAZY?! part is because I've been reading these boards for a long time and I know that the restriction is severe. I know it's a huge change... But in just a week of reading about the other options, I've started to have doubts. And I'm just trying to figure out why.

    A Simple Little Graphic

This is exactly right! Except my "feast response" always lasted twice as long as my diet!

    Living without food

    Wow-- people are strange!
  16. That's what I feel like happened today! I had my initial consult with the surgeon and I am scheduled for all of my post-op/insurance requirements already. I should have all paperwork submitted to insurance by the end of June! I also got some great news, so good, in fact, I started crying when the finance lady told me: Dr. Scarborough isn't going to charge the me the $5000 bariatric co-pay required by my insurance-- he is only charging $1800!!! I couldn't believe it. Those of you who read my posts in the previous weeks know I was really worried about the cost. I just can't believe it! I am so blessed and fortunate! My husband also went with me today and he has decided to under-go WLS as well. He feels the Duedenal Switch is the best option for him, but that procedure scares me! Any advice about this?
  17. I am absolutely the largest person in my family and my husband is the largest in his. Sometimes I feel like we don't belong, though it's all in my head because they look at us and just see us. (We have both been big since very early childhood.) At my SIL house, my husband and I essentially have to take turns sitting down because they only have one chair that is not 'iffy'! (they buy everything at Ikea so it's hit and miss. Lately its all MISS!) Hopefully not for long!!

    3 months out!

Wow! Amazing job so far, you look great!
  19. Hi everyone! I've emailed the team twice through the endobariatric website for pricing information and they still haven't returned correspondence! Would any of you mind sharing your surgery costs?
