    August 2013 Roll Call

I'm a September Sleever myself, just popping in to see how everyone is doing with their new sleeves? Also, wishing successful procedures to everyone who is still waiting their turn!

    "Good" Fast Food?

Not sure if you have Panda Express where you are, but the Panda Bowl with steamed veggies is great with any of their not-fried protein options. Also the flatbread egg sandwich with avocado and ham from Subway (nix bread). KFC kids meal with a piece of grilled chicken (remove skin), green beans and cheese stick is also good option.
  7. Final countdown for you! What questions do you have for our surgeon? I'm trying to compile a list of things I need to know but maybe haven't thought of. Thanks and good luck!!
  8. What has wrecked my nerves most is worry about recovery time and possible complications. I am also worried that I will not be able to maintain a healthy vegetarian diet and will make poor food choices. I am excited about living an active life. I've been a fat, lazy person since junior high and I am ready to get off my bum. I want to enjoy the outdoors, travel and see all the places I've let my weight keep me from! I am also really excited to have a normal sex life!

    In the E.R.

OP- so sorry you are going through that. I hope you have smooth sailing once you get past this hurdle! RJ- if you don't mind me asking, what surgeries have you had post sleeve?
  12. I'm Sept. 11 too! Where are you having your surgery?
  13. I am scheduled for Sept 11, but my husband is waiting until December because of winter break (teacher). He says it seems so far away too. I'm trying to get him to join these boards so he can connect with others!

    Pinup Photo Shoot

    Hot mama!
  17. It happened to me today. I got home from work and found a letter from Blue Cross on my counter. It was nothing I didn't already know, but to see it there in black and white, officially announcing my procedure date and suregery approval was a special moment for me. This is really happening. I am having the gastric sleeve surgery. It hit me in that exact moment and I am so glad to say it no longer feels like a dream. Now, for whatever reason, it feels real. Nothing has changed and yet I feel like everything is different! So when did it happen to you? What was your 'It just hit me!' moment?

    Is anyone else cold?

I was just thinking about this today! Someone at work said it was so cold in the store and I thought 'Yeah right, I'm sweating!' It got me to wondering if I'd ever be cold in 74 degrees.

    Food obsession ?

I'm still pre-op, but I've had this dream about smoking. I'd have a cigarette in my dream and wake up so relieved that I hadn't actually smoked one.

    Vitamin stores

I use BariatricChoice.com. They are a little expensive, but the Vitamins are made specifically for WLS patients. I heard about them through this forum. They have a referral program. If you click the link below and enter the referral code, you will get $20 off a purchase of $30 or more (And ill get a $10 coupon as well). Also if you spend $50 you will get free shipping. It worked well for and and I got a months worth of all vitamins for under $40. (FYI-- I did three hours research and the Celebrate Multi Vitamin was the most complete one I could find for under $39/month supply) http://www.bariatricchoice.com/get-started-referred-bc.html CODE: 8175475

    Made another goal!

That's amazing! I am still pre-op (scheduled for mid September) and having a hard time wrapping my brain around what it will be like to lose that much much weight. Congrats on a great job!
