i had my second fill yesterday -- and now i think i'm dying! i can't even sip water! have been nursing a bowl of Soup by just dipping my spoon into it and licking it off. i pb after about the third lick. will this get better? or should i have a de-fill?

thank you to all who told me that i needed to have my band de-filled a bit after having not being able to even get water down. my doctor, who did have me drink water before i left his office, believes that i may have been dehydrated from having spent the day on the beach before going for my appointment. if that wasn't the case, we don't know what happened. anyway, i think i'm going to live now. whew. that was tough!

hello all...i was banded 10 days ago. i'm supposed to be still on liquids, but i'm so tired of liquids... i never feel full.... NEVER. today i ate scrambled egges and even a piece of toast. i did not chew, eat slowly, or anything different than i have done all my life. no problem. felt great. i was really hoping that things would be different. my girlfriend, who was banded a week before me, had lunch with me. she couldn't finish her eggs and didn't even try for the toast. she was too full. am i a freak??? the doctor told me that i have to wait four weeks from surgery before i can get my first fill. by then, i'll probably be 20 pounds heavier! ugh! am i the only one, or is this a common problem early in the process? -

i don't know that i want a quick fix; i want to be in control.... this will help, right? -
i'm due for surgery on tuesday. i'm totally obsessing over these boards to make sure i'm doing the right thing. i have one question -- well actually i have many questions -- but right now i am confused about a fill and/or a restriction. doesn't a fill give you a "restriction"? or am i not understanding the definition of these terms?

so the expected weight loss is about 1 - 2 pounds a week? is it more than that at the beginning? -

okay, i'm due for surgery on tuesday, but still not 100% sure if this is the right thing. i am paying for this myself and my husband will kill me if i don't lose the weight. i only want to lose 50 pounds, which i'm hoping will be possible. i am terrified that i'm never going to be able to eat again or enjoy dinners out with friends. we rarely eat home these days. will i have to start cooking again??? i really don't want to cook anymore. has anyone regretted having done this??? -
no, no, no.... they use the band to keep eating at bay, and if they have a roll requiring them to gain for a part, they have it opened so they can eat enough to gain weight.

i live in hollywood... my dr., who i assume does lots of famous celebrities, says that lapband is often the way that many actor/actresses use this for losing and/or gaining weight for parts.... or for maintaining their skinny appearances.

Anybody have a BMI of less than 35 before Lap Band Surgery?
watchband replied to ReneeMarie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i hope someone responds to your questions because i am in the same boat. i only need to lose 50 pounds. most people would tell me i'm crazy to do this, but i'm at my wit's end. i can't help but believe that i would be successful with only 50 pounds to lose, but maybe not. good luck to you -- and me!!!! -
New at this. Got my date one day down on diet.
