  1. I am consciously NOT weighing myself until my first post-op visit on 9/3. I don't want to be lured by the scale either way. It's hard but I'm sticking to my guns. I don't know if after that I will weigh weekly ... Maybe. I definitely think the reason I threw up was because I didn't have the vitamin with a meal. Lesson learned! I won't make that mistake again. Still having a hard time getting a handle on the small meals, vitamins, and sip sip sipping. I do not want to get dehydrated. Just need to be ,more conscious of what I'm doing.
  2. I hear you YLLUZ. Everything tastes too sweet to me too. Try to get your fluid in so you don't get dehydrated. Could you try adding protein to cottage cheese or r Low fat ricotta?
  3. Hi guys. I just had a weird thing happen. I hope this is not a start of what happened to me before. I just drank some water (maybe too fast?) and realized I needed to take my vitamin. I took it..it's very sweet chewable...and immediately felt like I was going to vomit and I did. I don't feel nauseous now thank goodness. Maybe it was just too soon. I'm going to lay low for the rest of the day and try to get some more water in later and some broth. I'm off until mid Sept. I didn't think I would need all that time but now I'm glad it's an option considering I've been having a bit of a hard time. Hope you all are doing well.
  4. Hello everyone. I was just sleeved on 8/17. I bought a couple of food items from a bariatric store to try them. One was a cream of broccoli Soup and I bought two boxes of bariatric hot chocolate. I also bought unflavored Protein - Syntrax nectar. The soup was gross. Maybe if I made it with chicken broth instead of Water it could possibly be good. The cocoa was pretty good but it's expensive. My question is - could I just buy a SF cocoa I like and add the unflavored Protein powder to it? Anyone else do this? Any other tips or tricks for getting in enough protein and not breaking the bank? The Syntrax Nectar was the least expensive unflavored protein option at the store and I had heard good things about it on the board here. 40 servings for $18.95
  5. Guys, I don't know how you went back to work today. I'm still so wiped. You must be made out of VERY STRONG STUFF! I am struggling to get in all the water, it's a real chore. The other struggle is the vitamins....vitamin with iron at breakfast, wait 2 hours calcium, wait two hours another vitamin with iron, wait two hours another calcium, and finally after another 2 hours another calcium. This is in addition to getting in enough protein. It's exhausting - mentally and physically. GOOD NEWS (and maybe TMI) but I now can say I am no longer constipated! WOO HOO. What a relief. I did two days of Miralax. It wasn't painful, thank goodness. I'm just wondering if I should keep the Miralax up or wait? I'm not on any heavy pain meds. I might just see what happens. I did some walking today. I also got a ride up to a place called "Nashua Nutrition" in Nashua, NH that just sells bariatric shakes, bars, vitamins, etc. I bought some cream of "broccoli" soup, and two boxes of hot chocolate. One is regular hot chocolate, and the other is "assorted flavors" like mint, etc. I thought it might be nice to have a hot drink in the morning. I'm getting a little tired of drinking/eating sweet things. At least I will be able to add more savory stuff in 10 days when I meet with the NUT. Hope everyone is doing well.

73 Days out and struggling with nausea

I would call your surgeon's office and tell them what's going on. Maybe they can give you something for the nausea. Don't suffer!
  7. TXTinana mine wasn't due for another 2 1/2 weeks but it started today. At least I am going home today ????
  8. Hi everyone. I'm still in the hospital and will be discharged tomorrow. Looking back at some of posts when I first got here....I can't believe the misspellings, etc! I blame it on the drugs I was given ???? The plan is to make sure I can tolerate taking medication orally rather than by IV. I feel so much better now. Although I wish I could go #2 (sorry if TMI). I'm not in pain with constipation but I would like to go. I am not weighing myself yet. I'm going to weigh myself when I see the surgical team for my first post-op appt on 9/3
  9. Kozujosie I have been walking up a storm. I think they have it figured out ... It's the narcotics that are making me so nauseous. I'm off all narcotics by mouth. I have a fentanyl patch (3 day extended relief) Pam, taking anti nausea mess. And using antiinflammatories for pain. Feeling better I just hope and pray I don't go back!
  10. Hi guys. I am still in the hospital and have to stay another night. I've got wicked nausea and I've been dry heaving. I just want it to go away.

Thanks. Zofran is what they gave me. If it's no better by 10 I have to go to the ER
  14. I'm home. Thank goodness. The only incision that hurts is the one in my belly button and it's exactly where underwear or pants hit. Figures!!!! I'm not going to complain every day it will get better.

    Todays sleevers☆☆

Hi Ylluz. Sounds like you are doing better today. Walking will help. I am hoping to go home today.
  16. Hello everyone. Ylluz so sorry you got your period. That really sucks. Everyone else looks to be doing ok. Yesterday was a tough one for me. Nausea and dry heaves all day til about 6. Feeling much better today. Got almost no sleep last night because of my roommate but I'll be out today and I can rest when I get home. Having very little pain and I was able to get breakfast down slowly. It was 2oz plain yogurt and a 4oz protein shake. Now I'm sipping water. Don't forget tosipsip sip!
  17. Almost ready to head out to the hospital. I have everything I need. Can't believe how slowly and yet how quickly this day has come! I really can't believe it's here. I feel really calm and happy. Best of luck to all the 8/17 sleevers!

Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!

My surgery is Monday 8/17. HW 295, CW 255. Still 5'10"????. This thread is encouraging to see what size I might get down to at my goal weight. Started out at a very tight 22W, still wearing them but they are very loose. I can fit into a regular size 20 now.
  24. TXTinana - I'm bringing my cell phone, IPAD, chargers, lip balm, brush, pony tail ties, face wipes (the cosmetic kind a pillow, and one of my softest throw blankets. Oh and my toothbrush! I don't think I'm going to need much else, I'm only there one night and whatever toiletries I do forget the hospital should have. Margie
  25. Aduruz - I'm also having surgery on 8/17 While there are foods I may "miss" like bread, Pasta, rice, etc. the fear of not being here on this earth to enjoy any food at all is what drives me. I do not want to imagine a future where I am constantly uncomfortable walking, buying clothes, getting out of breath, feeling fatigued, etc. I want to ENJOY life more...get outside, walk, hike, and maybe even RUN! I don't want aching joints, knees, or feet to keep me from living. Best of luck on 8/17! Margie
