Almost 6 weeks post-surgery and STILL learning!
Margie122 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I forgot to take my Multivitamin after Breakfast this morning so I decided to take it right now. YEAH RIGHT. Immediately felt like I was going to throw up....my mouth started to Water (like it always does right before I'm going to vomit)....but I sat down, closed my eyes, and WILLED myself to not throw up. I'm at work, so it would be rather embarrassing! After about 5 minutes it passed. I know the NUT said to take the Vitamins with meals...I guess he really meant it! I'm not taking a chance like that again. I haven't had that feeling since the first week of surgery and I am not trying to repeat it ever again. Hope all the 8/17 sleevers and other August sleevers are doing well! I see the NUT again for my 6 week check up on Monday. So far I am pleased as punch with my progress. -

Congratulations on your success! -
Hi. I'm 5'10". My goal is 165lbs. I'm down 67lbs from my highest ever weight of 295. That is since 4/1. Surgery day 8/17/2015 and I was 256. I was in a 22W for pants and 3X blouse. Now wearing size 18 jeans comfortably and a 20 or 1X blouse depending on the cut. I can tell I've lost weight in my face. I'm going to be brave and post a picture - something I NEVER thought I would do. Hope this works. The second one is my license pic and I will be able to get rid of it next year!

Whitney - I would think you could have a bean burger patty. I would eat it slowly and chew it very well. You could always call your doc's office or the NUT and find out for sure. I've been eating Beans for about two weeks now. -

Whitney - I lost 28lbs since 8/17...the other weight I lost pre-op since 4/1. Ryan - for me it was because I took it on an empty stomach. My NUT said to take my multi and calcium AFTER EATING! I will not forget again! -
Looking for those who had sleeve in August 2015
Margie122 replied to Sherri1964's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mrswrath did your NUT recommend putting banana in your Protein shake? My NUT told me to stay away from banana's because they are very high in carbohydrates. You could always try adding unflavored Protein powder to chocolate milk, cocoa or thick Soups for extra protein. -

Lealor - I doubt very much you had 28lbs in your face! I notice that the bigger we are, the more weight it takes to go down one size. I was 295 and was in a 22W, I've lost 67lbs and I'm in an 18. I think once you get down to size 12, 10, 8 etc. it's a 10-15lb loss between sizes. It took about 40lbs before anyone started to notice my weight loss. Don't get discouraged...28lbs is amazing! -
I would call your doctor. It could still be trapped gas from the surgery trying to make it's way out...WALKING helps.
-
YLLUZ - call your doc to see if you can have motrin or if they can prescribe something you can take that is a little stronger than TYLENOL. Do you have a heating pad? Hope you feel better soon.

Hi, I didn't have a band revision, but I did have the sleeve. I think if you can get all 3 done at the same time that would be great. I was sleeved on 8/17. I was readmitted after surgery for 3 more nights because I had severe nausea and dry heaves. Once they got that under control I was fine. I had my gallbladder removed years ago - I remember the gallbladder attacks as being awful - I felt like I was having a heart attack and they made me vomit. I wish you all the best. I can tell you that I AM SO HAPPY I made the choice to get the sleeve. It's been a life changer. I think you will do well. BEST OF LUCK! -

Congratulations! That is am amazing result. -
It could be the additional surgical procedure. I had a hard time after the surgery for about a week and then it calmed down. I'm sorry you are having issues. I hope they resolve before your flight on Friday. Did you purposely plan a trip so close to your surgery? You might want to let your surgeon know you are leaving the country and are still having some issues. I would hate for you to get sick in a foreign country. Best of luck.

Weighed in this morning at 228 lbs. Thanks for doing this challenge it's keeping me motivated!
-
Congratulations on your achievement! That is fantastic.

Hi. The protein shakes tasted funny to me after the surgery...they were sickeningly sweet. I suffered with nausea and dry heaving and it was so bad I was readmitted for 4 days. It will get better! Call your doc on Monday. Best of luck.

Ladies: Post sleeve menses question!
Margie122 replied to Need4Change's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes...FAT holds a lot of hormones and if you are releasing the fat, your period may get out of whack. I've had my period TWICE since 8/17. GOOD TIMES. The good news is it wasn't as HEAVY as it used to be. It's pretty normal and it should regulate itself soon. For more information search for it under the post-op topics, there are a lot of threads about it. GOOD LUCK! -
Ylluz - I'm sorry to hear that you are so hungry. I hope it gets better for you. I do find that I am much less hungry if I eat a denser Protein. I don't know if you can tolerate that, but I'm hoping that once your body adjusts and you can eat more things that you will feel fuller. Don't give up! It will get better!

OMG! Help me understand, am I sabotaging myself?
Margie122 replied to liannatx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have gotten to the weight I am now and a little less a few times before. I am afraid that as I get closer to onederland that I might sabotage myself....I think I am afraid. It's something I'm going to work on with my therapist. I don't believe that my life is going to magically change when I get to goal weight....but I do hope there are some positive changes.n I guess maybe I'm afraid that when I get to my goal weight that things won't have changed for me at all? I'm tired so I may not be making complete sense. I think you have a stressful job and you are stress eating. Recognize it, record it, and move on to tomorrow where you can start fresh. -

Thanks Jamielogical I'm feeling pretty good about it. I see you made goal - how is maintenance going for you? I have a feeling that maintenance is going to be the most difficult...Would you mind if I asked you, what size are you at 164? My goal weight is 165 and I am 5'10" so I'm trying to judge what size that MIGHT be. -
I already had my surgery a month ago but CONGRATS on your date! You must be very excited about it, I know I was. Don't be nervous, you will be great. Don't bring too much stuff to the hospital either because chances are you won't need it. Best of luck!
