Congrats! I am still 20 lbs heavier than what my license says my weight is...I could NEVER say what my true weight was. When I do finally get my license updated - I will PROUDLY say my true weight!

What month did you first try carbonated drinks?
pinksjo1 replied to Unhappysleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am in my 11th month out and haven't had anything with carbonation. We were told that the carbonation will stretch the new stomach...that's enough for me! I LOVED Pepsi and thought how could I live without it, but I have. I have had no desire to even think of having any sort of soda or carbonated drinks, there are plenty of options out there. Good luck! -
Hi EmmaLindsey - that is fine if you want to put a price on them. We'll just let everyone know some items are for sale and some items are for free.
-
Hi - sure, we can do that! We can do that at each meeting. Great idea!!

Hi Jessica! Please let me know if you need any other directions as we get closer to the date. Our first meeting is basically a meet and greet. I agree, we need all and any support as we are really the only ones that understand what we are going through. Hope to see you soon, Joan

What time of day do you exercise and why ?
pinksjo1 replied to HealthyNewMe's topic in Fitness & Exercise
During the work week, I eat lunch at my desk and take that hour to either walk outside - weather permitting - or walk on the treadmill or ride the bike in our building gym. On weekends, I either walk in the mall or on Grant's Trail. -
Feeling my Feelings...and nothing I can do about it.
pinksjo1 replied to HumanMerelyBeing's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The interesting part for me is realizing what my triggers are. The one I notice is anger. When I get angry, I want somethig sweet NOW. When I first noticed it, I had to sit down, figure out why I was angry, and what I could do about it without turning to food. Its a process, but I am learning a lot about myself and how to work through things. Believe me, its much easier to not eat the sweets and deal with the emotion. Not having the guilt that comes along with eating the sweets is nice! -
I explain it this way: If your eyes go bad, you fix them by getting glasses/contacts/laser surgery. If your hearing goes bad, you get a hearing aid, anything can go bad, and there are ways of getting them fixed. My stomach went bad, it didn't know when it had enough food, so I got it fixed.

Attended the Alumni Reunion Event at Des Peres Hospital last night. Had fun and met some nice people. They had a speaker, exercise, and some food and drinks. Haven't been to any of the meetings, but will start going. Any and all support is helpful. -

4 Things I Wish I Would've Known Pre Op
pinksjo1 replied to Tink22-sleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish I would have known I had Hpylori before I had surgery. I had to deal with it after surgery and it was extremely difficult to swallow the cut up antibotics...had to do this for 2 weeks. But otherwise, I too LOVE my sleeve! [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:10315] -

Back to work-Nosey co-workers
pinksjo1 replied to menjaz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My boss asked if he could tell the office...I wasn't crazy about the idea, but I let him. I just asked that any questions wait till I had the surgery and was back to work (didn't want to hear any horror stories). I came back 50 lbs lighter and compliments were given and hardly any questions. So, it worked out that everyone knew. -
