Not being a very good sleever :(
sharrenp replied to momofjal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing fabulous! At your stage, I could also only eat about 2 oz and, truthfully, I'm not much beyond that now (about 1/3 cup capacity, it seems). Anyway, try Greek yogurt. I'm in Canada so there are fewer choices, but the best one here is Danon Silhouette at 50 calories and 8 grams of protein. Most of the others are double the calories (or more). It's thick, so at first, I actually put it in a bowl and mixed some slimfast or other protein shake in with it and ate it like soup. It's about 1/3 of a cup in total but with the liquid added - obviously a little more. It would take me three separate times to finish one small container of yogurt at your stage, so go slow. It's a great way to get in some protein. Good luck!!! -

I'm having the same struggle and I'm six weeks out. I'm just starting a regular diet and would like a sample menu that includes the right amount of protein. Anybody? -
It's perfectly normal. Don't worry!

2 Week Pre-Op Liquid Diet Starts Tuesday
sharrenp replied to jslitzker's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Just hang in there. I think you're right that it's a mind game. We want what we can't have. As much as possible, stay away from places where you'll be tempted. I'm now one week until surgery, and I'm finding the pre-op diet easier, though I have been eating some solid food for supper - but very, very little. Three days before my surgery, I'll go back to straight liquids. I hope I am doing this right. Starting to get nervous! -
2 Week Pre-Op Liquid Diet Starts Tuesday

Hi, there. I'm brand new to this forum and scheduled for surgery on May 15 in Puerto Vallarta. I'm supposed to be on the two week pre-op liquid diet but was struggling tremendously. Today, I read about other preop diets that allowed for two protein shakes and then a small meal with a protein and green vegies. I went this route and feel much better - not weak - not feeling like cheating.
