    When can i eat?

Hi Softballmom! I am 7 weeks out. Until last week, I didn't understand when others said they were hungry. But last week it hit me. This crazy gnawing feeling of hunger. I started taking omeprazole because I had been told in my classes that excess stomach acid can mimic hunger. After 3 days the feeling subsided. Are you on a PPI for stomach acid? Try not to jump ahead in your stages, because you just had your stomach sliced and stapled. It's dangerous to eat ahead of your doctor's plan. One person on our forum relayed a story of a patient who ate Pasta two weeks out and his stomach burst. He died. Please be careful.
  2. Will you give us "reviews" of the things you got? Yummmm!!
  3. Surgery date: 5/31 Start: 253 Current: 218 Loss: 35 pounds in 7 weeks
  4. Hi Pixie! Liquid is more important than protein at this point! Keep a water bottle, Gatorade, etc by you at all times. Take a sip every few minutes. Protein is not important right now :-) hang in there!
  5. I've read both your posts now and your honesty, clarity and sincerity are inspiring. Thank you for putting your "nekked" self out there for all to see. You have triumphed over much adversity. You have reparented your little girl self and made her feel safe. Your name should now be writer woman instead of writer girl. Many blessings to you as you continue your journey to the healthy self you deserve.
  6. My goodness!!! I cannot even say how stunning you are!!! Every time I see a new picture of you, I am blown away!! You should look into modeling if you are not doing that already! Way to go soocalchic!!
  7. Hi Kat and Chinamama, I have discovered that for ME (and I can't say how it is for others) that I HAVE to have my protein percentage be at 50% or higher in comparison to my carbs and fat. When it is below 50% I stall. When it is above 50%, I lose. I can track this on MFP with their "pie chart" button. Just my two cents :-)
  8. This SUCKS! I would change if I were you. How rude!!!!!

  10. The sleeve means removing about 80% of your stomach leaving a smaller stomach in the shape & size of a banana. Bypass leaves the stomach the size of an egg and reroutes parts of the small intestine. The large part of the stomach is not removed. It is left inside the body. The sleeve is restrictive. The bypass is restrictive and malabsorptive.
  11. You will get to sleep lots over the next couple days :-). Best wishes to all on your surgeries! See you on the sleeved side!!

Honestly, how much do you vomit?

I am 6 weeks out and I never have. Hope this helps :-)
  17. Take a deep breath. Actually take ten of them. Normally I don't side with those who go off their Pre-ops, but you are being SO hard on yourself!!! If you are 12 days out, you should be ok. Let your NUT know just so they know everything that's going on. Please take this one as "lesson learned" and get back on your plan. You are an intelligent woman so you know that this stress is bad for you too, ok?
