Has anyone ever tried eating food at one week out?
Wags replied to liz89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know! I thought that was good too! I had my surgery in Mexico, so I had the same problem when I came back. But then I found the online diet progressions and everything has been good since then :-) -

Google gastric sleeve diet. Many of the bariatric surgeons have their diet progressions online. Here is a link to one: http://www.northwestobesitysurgery.com/pdf/sleeve-gastrectomy-diet.pdf -

If you still struggle afterwards, why do it?
Wags replied to Healthygal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks so much! I started st 253 and am at 196 right now. I'm almost the same height and was just curious to see if it was even possible for me to reach goal that early. I'm 3 months and 3 weeks out and my weight loss has slowed considerably this month ( I've only lost 5 pounds in three weeks). I eat between 700-800 calories, 80-90 grams of Protein and less than 50 grams of carbs. I log everything I eat on MFP. . I have the same philosophy as you do about exercise. I only want to do what is sustainable for life. Any advice? -

You're welcome. The pain was about like a regular surgery. It did hurt some but I thought it was going to hurt a lot more. They give you pain meds in your IV so that handles the pain. By the third morning I was really ready to leave and the pain was not bad at all. No complications, no nausea, no leaks, nothing bad at all. I've lost 57 pounds in 3 1/2 months.

Stayed at 196 this week. Been in a stall a LOOOONG time.

That's great! I went alone and I was lonely. I had Dr. Verboonen in Cancun also. Everything was fine. You only get to see the surgeon for a few minutes before the surgery and a few minutes the next day. Dr. Verboonen speaks English well enough. It's the nurses that you communicate with the most and most of then don't speak a lot of English. They are really nice though. Dr. Perez took out my drain and he spoke English really well.

Take someone with you. I didn't and I wished I had.

You're welcome. I hope it's something simple like that :-)

Not sick at all! It's nice to be right about your body :-)

Wow Patti that's awesome! How did your metabolism test go?

Do you have your gallbladder? The pain doesn't sound typical for that, but it does radiate to that spot.

Sabotaging myself- need a slap of reality!

Stop the madness!! Ok there's the yell. Then sign up for My Fitness Pal and track everything you eat. Share your username with other people here on VST and give them permission to view your diary. THEN you won't want to eat those things because you would have to log it and everyone would know!! Works for me :-) -
Mine says stop 30 minutes before and wait until 30 minutes after. Sounds like about half of us were told that rule as well.
