How long was your hospital stay?
Eva Linder replied to LittleDooker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved may 21 in Sweden. I stayed 2 nights at the clinic. Day one post op I felt discomfort but no pain. I have had nothing but smooth sailing this past month. I have more energy, my mood is much better as I know I am on a great journey to health and wellbeing. I horsebackride almost everyday and I am enjoying life. i am so happy I found this surgery. Here in Sweden only gastric bypass is done by hospitals so I went to a private clinic and paid out of pocket. Best money ever spent. I have lost 15 lbs which is more than I have ever lost in that short period of time before. -
Weight Loss Pills and Other Suppliments

My nut was very specific when she said, "never think diet again" she said we should only focus on nutrition. What ever you eat make sure it´s good for you. -

Afraid to tell people I've been sleeved
Eva Linder replied to dolores_o's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I don´t understand the worry and concern about "the shame"? What shame? When I hear about a person who has had wls I get inspired and happy that there are people who will do whatever it takes to regain health and loose the overweight. I tell people about my sleeve if the subject comes up and I am proud to have prioritised my life before any material things. If people want to keep it a secret it´s ok, I just think it´s a pitty if they do it because they think it´s shameful. -

It´s somewhat intresting how something is considered bad in one part of the world and good in another. As you know I live in Sweden (Europe) and here coffee is actually considerd good for you. It´s low in calories and it gives you energy. The dehydration part may be true, but it´s just not servere enough to make me give up what is so pleasureble. I drink the coffee with plenty of milk, lactouse free of course. Lactouse I am told to stay away from.

I still don´t have an answer for why you think that regular coffee is not allowed? Why do you think it´s bad?

Looking for some info on Sleeve! Was thinking of having the Lap Band but I'm starting to lean towards the sleeve.
Eva Linder replied to tee808's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
As for me, I never considered anything else but the sleeve. I was so happily surprised when I learned about the sleeve just 2 month ago. I never wanted a gastric bypass because of the risks and a lap band was never an option due to the fact that I seldom hear good things about it. I am 3- weeks post op and the sleeve works great. Good Luck -
how do you feel when you eat too much...
Eva Linder replied to jmarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is so easy to eat too fast. I usually get the feeling that something is stuck half way down. If I walk around it will usually give. It´s a process to learn the signs of how and when to eat. -
Lying about the surgery at work.... Please help!
Eva Linder replied to anna eve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tell them you have had a sex change operation, that will shut them up! -
Still, what is the reason for not drinking coffee? In Sweden where I live coffee is fine all the time. I don´t understand why the rules are so different?
-
I don´t understand why you can´t drink coffee? I even had coffee at the clinic one day post op. The nut said coffee and tea is fine if you don´t put sugar in it. I have my coffee with lactouse free milk. Delicious!

Does everyone have to do the preop diet?
Eva Linder replied to hopingtolose2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think the pre op diet is for bmi higher than 35 or it´s just different methods for different surgeons, anyone know for sure? -
Need some help and support!
Eva Linder replied to gonnabeaskinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
to gonnabeskinny I´m sure you´ll survive the foolish chips intake on day 4 post op. What worries me though is the notion that some people think that the operation alone will make you loose weight. It is the work, the motivation and your desire to get healthy that will ultimately make you loose the weight and regain your health. If you casualy think that a chip or a shrimp or whatever else you have whitin your reach won´t hurt, than you might not be very successful in your journey. Just sayin as so many have said before. The sleeve is not the solution to your problem, it´s a very good tool to use to get to where you wanna go. -
Does everyone have to do the preop diet?
Eva Linder replied to hopingtolose2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was at bmi 35-36 or something and I did not do the pre op diet. I had to be on clear liquids on op day and I couldn´t have anything to drink 2 hours prior to the surgery. Me and my best friends had a delicious last meal the night before. -
Afraid to tell people I've been sleeved
Eva Linder replied to dolores_o's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
If people want to know the secret to your weight loss succes, I think that it is good to share the method in which you can acctually loose weight. There are so many people out there who are desperate to loose weight and get their life back. Of course I don´t go around and telling everybody, but if someone honestly ask what my secret is, I´m proud to tell. -
My surgeon and my nut said 4 weeks post op, but why that is I don´t know.

Eva Linder replied to dolores_o's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am proud of my sleeve and I tell everybody who asks. I don´t want to decieve people by telling them that I have always have a weight problem and I have tried everything and all of a sudden I just mustered a lot of willpower to loose all the weight. Another thing is that people get so inspired by the fact that there is a solution to what can seem like an impossible problem. I love my sleeve and I´m proud to tell. -
how do you keep this a secret?
Eva Linder replied to miangr's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I´m proud over my sleeve, I tell everyone who wants to know. You´d be surprised how many people has had wls. It turns out, many people want to talk about it but are afraid to bring up the subject. Good luck with your journey weather you keep it a secret or not. -
Wow, you look great. Thanks for sharing.

any stats on death during/after the surgery?
Eva Linder replied to ProudMama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked my surgeon that same question. Have anybody died that you know of? He told me that they had operated on a very heavy woman some years ago and she had gone directly from the hospital to McDonalds to celebrate the gastric bypass that she had done. She managed to stuff her face with 18 hamburgers before she died!? Some people aren´t mentally equipped for a different lifestyle. -

I drink coffee every day, I couldn´t live without it. I live in Sweden and we don´t even have decaf. I am 2-weeks post op and I started with coffee day 2 post op. Not a problem, my tummy is cool with it.
