Best friend is visiting this weekend from overseas. So happy to see her and can't wait to see her reaction to my transformation! The last time we saw each other was a couple of weeks post surgery and I have gone from a size 18 to a size 12 since then~ We plan to go out for lunch- somewhere with good soup

Will do! I am traveling (work) this week, but will try it out when I get home on Friday or Saturday. Amazingly, I think I have all the ingredients in my cupboard for the chicken Tikka Masala and the homemade hummus, as well -

26 weeks preg W twins Glucose test
HappyCat replied to Amytequilahouse's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I think it is the same range. Just follow your doctor's instructions as low blood sugar is common in pregnancy (gestational diabetes). Congratulations on the twins! -
OMG you are beautiful! Congrats on rediscovering yourself!

I don't do we'll on the pill (always gained weight from it in my 20s). Also, the PCOS stopped me from getting pregnant. I am 47 and kind of late at this stage but would not be unhappy if I did get pregnant.

PCOS, insulin resistance and hypothyroidism here, too. I was sleeved May 6th this year and have lost nearly 60 lbs so far. I have normal blood sugar and cholesterol levels now very happy to say. I haven't had an appointment yet with my endo, but hoping to have to take less meds.

I was asked to come back again. I was nervous too, but it turned out fine. -
Edamame (?sp) wondering if anyone post op eats this? Do you like?
HappyCat replied to adargie's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I love them both steamed and dry roasted. Sometimes I get so busy at work that I can forget to snack like I know I should, so the dry roasted come in handy in a pinch. I keep a small bag in my purse in case I get stuck in traffic, too. -
You said it - thanks!

I have the greatest NSV news ever! I got the results of my first labs post-op and my triglycerides went down from a whopping (for me- I know I wasn't the worst) 298 high risk to a normal range 98!!! My overall cholesterol count is now 178, down from 260. My LDL And HDL have also vastly improved. I was so happy I thought I might just float away! The last time those numbers were in the healthy range for me was in 1998, so you can understand my excitement If I ever had any doubts about having the sleeve, it would be because "what if my cholesterol stays the same? Will it be worth the risks just to come out of it with the same CHD risk factor?" Now I have my answer! If I never lose another pound, another inch or get back any discernable muscle tone, it has officially all been worth it to have been sleeved. I was 3 months out on August 6th: I am now 186 lbs and bought my first pair of size 14 pants yesterday. My bra size has decreased from 44DDD to 38DD and shirt size down from 2X to XL. Thanks to my sister for suggesting I look into the sleeve option and to Dr. Snyder for giving me this opportunity for better health and a longer life! Love to my sweet husband, family, friends and coworkers who have been positive and awesomely supportive from day one. I am truly blessed. I am sending out positive vibes to all my current and future sleeve sisters and brothers for success in your personal journeys, as well! Don't worry about speed, just stay focused on progress - no matter how incremental - and stay positive~ HappyCat xxx
