I am almost 10 months about and 90lbs down. Looking to still loose about 15-20lbs. How many calories do you try to consume to still loose weight? And, how many calories to you try to consume if you are consistently doing about 30min of cardio/exercise about 3-4 times a week. I hear that sometimes you won't loose weight if you aren't taking in enough calories while exercising. I recently just started working out religiously and have gained about 3lbs. But I also kinda slacked on my diet. Looking to get back into a good routine to the last of my weight. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks you!

I am 7 months post op and was wondering if the rule of not drinking from a straw still applies?

Hi everyone! I'm in need of some new breakfast ideas. I'm getting bored with eggs and egg whites. What do you all eat? Thanks!

I am over 4 months post surgery and wondering if eating soups like chicken vegetable is good. I am curious if it is not good since it's like eating and drinking because it's liquid and solids. What are your thoughts???

What should i pack?
Lindzee replied to LilRed🔥Mama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Toothbrush and toothpaste (the hospital didn't give me any even though I was there for more than 24 hours) , Chapstick, and flip flops or shoes that are easy to slide on to walk through the hospital. I packed a bunch a stuff, but didn't use much other than those. Good luck! -
Edamame. 1/2 cup 100 calories and 8g protein

I'm going on vacation while on puréed foods. Any suggestions as to what may be good to bring to a hotel or order out at resturants?? I had this vaca planned before I even knew my surgery date. Worried about how the 5 days will go.

I was sleeved about 2 weeks ago. Around day 11 or 12 post op I found I was able too drink a larger amount than before too. I think some swelling went down. I have been on a liquid diet since surgery and will be for 4 weeks post op. . I dont think you should worry. I don't think one time of eating too much won't stretch you sleeve, but you should be careful in the future. Try weighing and measuring your foods to prevent any stretching of your stomach. Good luck!

I am almost 2 weeks post-op and I feel like I can't get my legs comfortable sometimes. It's worse at night, but I sometimes feel it during the day. Is this restless legs? Any suggestions to fix this?

vaginal bleeding post op
Lindzee replied to AshleySkinnyer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is it from the blood thinner shots you get post op? I too started right after surgery. I am on the pill and usually never have irregular bleeding in between. I'm supposed to have my real period soon according to my pill schedule. Wondering if I will, or if that was it... Really had no idea that this may happen. -
My new favorite food for pureed/soft foods is...

Yummy!! Definitely adding this to the menu when I'm past the post op diet stage! -
I have been having similar pains that are just under my ribs on both sides. I'm 4 days post op. I was thinking they are gas pains? Or maybe reflux? I'm not sure. I tried Gas-X strips. They seems to help a little. Walking helps too, but I'm still kinda weak. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Surgery tomorrow....
Lindzee replied to TeacherTeacher's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm being sleeved this Thursday. I'd be lying if I did't think long and hard about my decision again in the past week. It's extra hard being on this pre op diet and I think I'm kind of going through a food mourning. This will change our lives forever, but I know I want to be healthy and I know this will get me here. Try to keeps the reasons why you want/need this done and your ultimate goal in mind. Keep strong! Sounds like you've done your research and you know what's best for you. Good luck tomorrow! -
Is there any other protein besides shakes in phase 2?
Lindzee replied to miangr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unjury makes a chicken broth protein powder. I haven't tried it yet (mine is still in the mail) but have heard great things from a friend of mine. She said she lived on it after her surgery. All the reviews on the site were good too. -
Any suggestions on stuff to get for after surgery? In one week I'll be having surgery and am looking to make a run to the store to get prepared for after.

My doctor said that I can keep taking it. He said that I may just miss a few pills in the days after surgery when I can't take them. He said that because of my age (25), he said it was ok. Maybe if I was a little older or had other risk factors of getting a blood clot, his answer would have been different.

I have kept my surgery quiet and have decided to tell everyone that I have been watching what I eat. Making better choices and eating much less. Also exercising. I mean, that isn't exactly a lie. They don't need to know that I had surgery. Also, someone told me that if anyone asks questions about how much you lost, just tell them that you don't want to discuss any numbers. Eventually, they will get bored and move on. The first few months of going back may be hard, but eventually it will be old news! Good luck!

Had my EGD Tuesday. Everything went well. I guess I was a feisty un cooperative patient under anesthesia. Oops. No ulcers, or hernia. I am cleared for surgery! Today is the first day of my pre op diet. So far, it's going ok. The Protein drink my Dr.'s office doesn't taste too bad. But I do not suggest smelling the actual powder....Not pleasent!!! I got the vanilla flavor because they were out of the chocolate. Vanilla was good too, but they suggested to mix it with light chocolate soy milk for a chocolate flavor. That's good as well. Besides 3 shakes a day I can have light yogurt, sugar free Jello, a lettuce salad with 1 tbsp. of fat free dressing. At least I get to have some crunch. All liquids might have been rough for 2 weeks. The weekend may be hard for me, especially with family gatherings for fathers day. I can't believe that 2 weeks from today I'll be sleeved. I know that this is the best decision for me and my health. But anytime I have any doubts reading all of the posts immediately makes me feel better about my decision and makes me excited to start my new life. I'm thankful to have found this blog and for everyone sharing their stories, questions and answers along the way, and success. Great motivation!!!
