Disclaimer...... What i'm about to say might come off as being rude/ungrateful/negative etc. I am a very happy and positive person who tries to find the good in everything. However, I'm human and I have my pet peeves.. :-) I thought I was the only one who is tired of the compliments. Honestly, when they come from family they make me feel worse at times. When I was large, I've always heard how pretty My face was. Now that I am half the size, the same people tell me that "now" I look so good. Last thanksgiving I spent it with my family for the first time in a few years. Most of them haven't seen me in a long time. My uncle gave me a hug and told me "you look good girl. Now your able to blend in with the crowd." I was furious and i was about to go off on him, but my dad walked up to me to inquire if I was ok. I told him what my uncle said and apparently they exchanged some words outside. How my family responds to me irritates me to no end. When I was large, I used to feel so uncomfortable around them especially kids. Little Kids are brutally honest and will say mommy she is fat right in front of you. Now when I go around them the first thing they say to me is omg...you are so pretty/beautiful/u look good. They immediately continue with I need to lose a few pounds myself. They watch me like an eagle when I make a plate of food and always ask if thats all I can eat. Then they go back to telling me how they need to stop eating as much so they can lose weight and get ready for the summer. It seems like the tables have turned. I use to feel uncomfortable and now I make them feel uncomfortable. I don't care if they are small or big. I don't mind talking about weight loss when I'm asked about nutrition, how I lost 50 lbs before surgery completely on my own, and about my experience with the entire process itself. I just don't want to hear someone making negative comments about themselves. It's irritating and i'm not sure how to comment on it, so I just blink without any words. My weight loss wasn't for esthetic purposes. I don't have to be a size 6. Nor am I obsessed with how fast I lose the weight. I barley keep track of how much I lost. All I know is my cloths fit one day and don't the next. Honestly, I decided to have this surgery because I was 436 lbs and I couldn't do the things I loved to do when I was smaller. I've always been a big girl and was 250 lbs in middle school. However, I could still run a mile, beat people in a foot race, and I was the star basketball player from 5th grade thru high school. All I wanted was to be able to play basketball again, get on amusement park rides, and have a baby. Lol My point is I don't want people to make it a big deal. Yes U have lost a ton a weight, but i don't want to talk about with with everyone I come across. I just want things to go back to being normal. Thanks guys for listening/reading to me vent...

Hello everyone, i am a new member and not sure if i am posting in the right area, but...... It took me a very long time to find Vitamins I could tolerate. My problem was the taste. It was so nasty that it made me nauseous. My nutritionist recommended all of these different ones Nd advised to try to stay away from the gummies because it's harder to absorb. I had to turn to gummies as a last resort. I started feeling so weak and just overall sick before taking them. I use a multi-Vitamin for men 3 times a day because of the higher dosage for each vitamin. If u can tolerate drinking maybe try supplements that mix with Water. Have you tried any of the Bariatric Advantage products? They have a multi-vitamin crystals that also provide 25g of Protein. The Nutritionalist said that the bariatric advantage products were the best way to go. There is no doubt in my mind that they are, but i just cant do it.

Hello everyone I need some bp regarding a penni. I was sleeved on 6/18/13 and so far I have lost a little over 100lbs. However, I've lost 145lbs since my first visit with my surgeon. My issue is I still have 140 lbs to go until goal. My penni is now getting in the way and affecting my everyday life. It sticks to my thighs, hurts underneath because skin is being pulled, still cannot lay on My back and so on so on. I have BcBS od CA and i was wondering if anyone has any experience with having this done prior to goal and if they will pay for it.
-
It when they cut you gut off.. Hmm... The bottom of the stomach that may hang over your pants.. Ur private parts etc
-
I was thinking that I had to get to goal before it would be considered. However, that has changed. I am sitting here at work and I have this aching pain under my guy. Something def has to be done.

I have bcbs ppo of california and I was approved in 48 hours. The person who called me regarding the approval told me it took so long because only part of the doctors fax came in and they had to request them to resend.

Its crazy because I Changed my eating habits 6 months ago. My surgery placede on the diet I would eat after surgery so I could get use to it. It was rough at first and I swear I went crazy because I could not get food off my mind. Now that I have been sleeved everything I am use to eating I cannot stomach. Protein shakes and broth for sodium was something I had everyday. I can't do them anymore and it sucks... I have not had mash potatoes in 6 months. I didn't want to start craving carbs if I did. Now mash potatoes is the only thing besides popsicles my stomach can handle without gas or bubble guts. Also I am craving everything I cant have. I think Its more mental... -

I was also sleeved on 18th and 1st pre op appt is 7/3.. my question is... how do u guys feel after you eat? I was on liquid diet only 2 days and now I am on puree. More so puree veggie soup..baby food.. popcicles.. sugar free pudding etc. With every bite I can feel gas bubbles immediately after swallowing. Gets to point where I don't want to eat. -
Sleeved on 6/18... eating has been challenging. I don't have an appetite and when I do eat I lose interest in the taste. Im struggling with getting fluids and protein in. Has anyone tried the 2.7 oz protein shot/ drink from cosco? The bariatric advantage crystals multi vitamin includes 25g of protein. I must take it 3 times a day mixed in at least 8oz of water. I cannot get all tht fluid in. Any suggestions on a chewable multi vitamin?
-
I am now 3 days post op and like many also struggling with fluid intake. Very uncomfortable when I take in hot/cold fluids. Also have not had a bowel movement since day of surgery. Not sure if delayed bowel movement is normal or if I need a laxative.
-
Thank you for your reaponses.. I was starting to worry.

Hey guys 2 days post op and very sore. Surgery went well.. no external drain.. was released from hospital the next day. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I am nervous about my new journey. I have been overweight my entire life and always dreamed of being average size. Now that the time has come I am scared. Has anyone else been through this?
-
Thanks guys... since I have been having a lot of issues with slow gut.. started a laxative... surgery in 4 days... been on liquid diet for two weeks and have been sick and no weight lost.. I am a little nervous because I need to lose 8 more lbs. Have not been able to eat or drink anythng without horrible stomach cramps. I think this has been caused by my um.. slow gut...I figured from all the protein.
-
Has anyone doctor require a laxative day or two before surgery? My doctor has not mentioned it and seems a little weird.
