Stall or new weight body set point? Latest Pics!
chickadee replied to Lisa's Hope's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lisa, u look fantastic! I am only 6 wks out and have already learned that sweets are the devil in disguise. I thought I would no longer be interested in them. But let a box of donuts sit next to you all day and u could swear they are sirens luring u in. I am developing a strategy to keep me safe. 1. Walk away. They bring these deicacies in at work all the time. When they were calling to me, I literally got up and walked away. Went for a walk around the block. 2. Have a healthy snack available at all times. 3. If someonr tries to force the bd cake on u, tell them u are allergic. You are, it makes u breakout in fat. Lol. But I am preaching to the choir. You've got this. You know yourself better than anyone after this amazing journey you have been on. You can do it. Maybe change up ur exercise routine. Find a fluid u like and put a ring on it. Lol. Not getting enough fluid would make anyone stall. That is how ur body gets rid of toxins and fat. Doc told me if u dont get enough fluid your body will try to hold on to it. You r an inspiration to us newbies and Butterbean too. You look"mahhvalus darling". -

Well, after being discharged Thurs. afternoon, I went to the emergency room at midnight (different hosp.) and they took a chest exray. DOUBLE PNEUMONIA. So please play it safe and check with your doc. -

What is ENS and where do you get it? Does it taste good? I tried to make homemade popsicles but the protein powder sank to the bottom. Not too appetizing. -

I use Visalus at the moment. It is pricey but I had a bag from a previous diet attempt. 90 cals per serving w/12 grams protein, 5 grams, fiber, and 7 grams carb = 2 net carbs and less than 1 gram sugar. It is a powder that i blend with coffee, no sugar added almond milk, or crystal light. -

Today is day one of pre op liquid diet for me as well. I love my coffee, too. I am learning to appreciate black coffee but you can try stevia or splenda. My protein shakes taste like cake batter. If you take cold coffee and blend it w shake and ice, it makes a decent frozen mocha. -
The pre-op diet is NOT a punishment ... it's an opportunity.

The pre op diet is the magic count down. I know I can do this. I am worthy. The visalus shakes taste pretty good. It won't be forever. . . it will only seem like it. Boy, one second i psych myself up and the next i kick my self. -

I sit in an office all day. That is partly to blame for all the weight i put on the last 10 years. My friends at work even threw a "lifestyle wake" for me at work today with all my fav foods. They called it phat friday. -

I have tried the tropical popsicles. I think they will be very helpful. One of my fears is being at work and hungry. It will test my customer service skills for sure. How do you have dinner with family drinking a shake while they eat as usual? -
First day of pre-op diet!

I am a newbie. My surgery is May 14 and I start my liquid diet tomorrow. My nut allows low fat cream soups and even cream of wheat or grits (no fat) At least it is something to chew, sort of.
