Hi you can find it in my response to Patty! Enjoy! I just made more yesterday and did not get any because my family eats before I do! Lol! Today I made puréed broccoli, cauliflower, and low fat cheese! That was delicious too! -
Eggs Protein Source *sigh* no more - Atlantic Cod Recipe suggestions?

Hi Patty: This is terrible because I don't have an actual recipe BUT I can tell you the ingredients I use! I puree canned chicken with a little onion, maybe a 1/4 tsp of lemon juice, 3 tbsp of non-fat mayo then I cut about 2 celery chunky - I don't puree that because it doesn't seem right. I just chew chew chew the little chunks or avoid them. Salt and pepper to taste. I stuff it into a tomato just to flatter myself! lol Plus at work since I didn't tell anyone it looks like I'm eating a lot more than what I really am! Good luck! Debbie -
August Sleevers?
debrooks66 replied to Brettharris35's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on the 20th! My biggest issue is where they had the drain. It hurts like a mother there. When I walk I have to hold that area with a little pressure to avoid the pain! I'm on pureed foods and honestly not always hungry. Occasionally, I will get the shakes in the morning and I will eat a banana until I can get the protein going. Seems to work! Drinking at first was my biggest issue but now I'm on a pretty good routine of drinking the protein and water! Life is good! 24 lbs lost so far!!!! -
You go girl! Day 3 was not fun for me either but as the days have passed I am feeling better and better! I agree the drinking is the hardest. After a week that becomes easier too. Make sure you are up walking around. That will make a difference on how you feel too. Just keep reminding yourself time will pass and so will this! Congrats on the 14 lbs!!

In the post op stage! I have to confess I questioned my decision doing this. It is not the easiest thing to do BUT today day 3 of post surgery I feel pretty good. I've lost 15 lbs since my pre-op appt a week ago! This is not easy to do so don't go into this thinking it is a cake walk. Think positive thoughts and walk a lot and that will help with the pain. I'm already doing fantasy shopping in my head! Life is good!

I wish I had read this yesterday! Congrats! I'm a week post op tomorrow and I'm surprised that the healing process is as good as it is! The first 3 days are not the funnest! Walk Walk Walk! I had gas pains in my left shoulder - cried over that. Was afraid I'd tear my stomach up by getting up and walking but WOW here I am today no tears and very little pain! You got this! Think positive thoughts! I keep fantasizing about shopping for new clothes and a new style! I can't wait to show up to work in a suit just to throw them off! Picking out those beautiful sweaters for winter here I come! I cleared my closet out so I gotta shop soon!

Surgery was August 20th
debrooks66 replied to debrooks66's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Down 17 lbs one week tomorrow since surgery! I am learning my "full" points. I am looking forward to the pureed foods stage. I am fortunate to be working from home and won't return to work till Wednesday. I have learned a lot through this process. What triggers my bad eating and where my priorities really where. This past week I completely shut down work. I'm one that typically would respond during my vacation this time it was for me. Now I will confess I did check email (only out of boredom - BUT - I did not respond to them! Huge step for me). My stress at work is my trigger. I gave myself an overall goal of November to change things. First, focus on me and my health, second, if the job doesn't work anymore time to make a change! Life is good! I can honestly say that just the 17 lbs has made a difference in me! I can't wait to see what happens when I reach my ultimate goal of losing a total of 100 lbs! -

Today, I had my first visit for my nutrition requirement part of my journey. I have to say I'm excited! I am even more so motivated because 2 weeks ago I had went to my consultation and was saddened even more that I had gained all the weight back I had lost last year (30 lbs). Today I weighed in 7 pounds less! Woohoo! That was just from me cutting out sugars and sodas! Today I began cutting down my portions and will follow the goals I have set for myself. I have accepted it is more of a mental challenge than anything. I am a stress eater always have been since joining the company I am with. I have gained 100 lbs in 12 years that I have been with them. I weigh more now than what I weighed when I gave birth to both my children. One of the questions I had to answer on my questionnaire was - "What did you weigh when you were 18" 118 lbs! WOW! I'm 46 now....Although that is unrealistic and unhealthy for me now - I know I can reach my goal of 155 lbs! I got this. I love reading the post and hearing the do's and don'ts. It's hard to accept that I am and have been overweight for so long. This is my year. I own it and I'm gonna do it!

My Journey Begins Today!
debrooks66 replied to debrooks66's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today going to the YMCA to sign up! I'm a little behind on the exercising and must make this a part of my routine. I have no excuse and know that I really want this. I can't wait to have the extra tool I need to get back to where I belong! Healthy, Happy, and to have "ME" back! For once in my life I am going to be selfish. Going through the pre-surgery journey for me has been enlightening. I have accepted that for all these years now I have been in denial and easily pushed the blame on others. I have a 1,000 excuses of why I became who I am today. I have taken ownership of me and I have to say it is empowering. Life is good and it will be more exciting soon! Before I know it August will be here and I must prepare! Love this forum!
