HELP MAG CITRATE HELP
Who Dat 70461 replied to jillian109's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never had issue, however my wife did (both sleeved). Then, after about four hours, well...it worked (and worked and worked and...). However, may want to call doc on-call, for peace of mind. -
Protein drink suggestions?
Who Dat 70461 replied to marieelaine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ready to drink...Premier Protein (from Sam's) is my favorite. Powder...Gladiator (Strawberry and Chocolate) from Smoothie King is the only one I've found that blends easy and tastes great. -
Ate too much now SCARED
Who Dat 70461 replied to vsginkc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is a miserable feeling (physically) to eat too much. Don't beat yourself up, you have been eating this way your whole life, it'll take time for your old habits to be broken. However, due to the consistency of the pie filling, I suspect you'll live....you'll just be miserable for some time. Sorry to make light of your situation, you've just made the same mistake 99% of your peers on this site have made. I made the same mistake when I was able to finally have cooked vegetables...ate too fast and too much. Spent the next hour doubled over, praying to throw it up! You need to portion your food, then stick to that amount. Eating your fill of yogurt is no biggie...you will not be able to do the same with more dense foods (which is a good thing!). I'm by no means a pro, only four months (and 80 lbs.) out...just lending my two cents. Good luck and again, don't beat yourself up...it takes time to adjust. -
Anyone had issues with gout?
Who Dat 70461 replied to Believe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had gout prior to surgery. Unfortunately, still have to take Allopurinol daily and Indometacin, as needed. I eat fish at least 3-4 times a week, but cannot say it has caused any issues. I make every attempt to take in 80-100 ozs. of water a day, so I think that probably helps to keep the uric acid in check and minimize flare-ups. -

Who Dat 70461 replied to marfar7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're not doing this for other people...you're doing this for you! I couldn't agree more with gamergirl...my wife and I are each others' biggest cheerleaders (no pun intended)! Keep it going...very inspirational! -
sugar free snocones
Who Dat 70461 replied to katie.c's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My wife and I eat them almost daily, with no issues (I'm almost 15 weeks post op and she is 6 weeks out). She initially had problems with fluid intake, but the fine shaved ice from the snowballs has been no problem. -
Half way in 2 1/2 mos...Congratulations!

Is 2 weeks reasonable?
Who Dat 70461 replied to Teachamy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went back to work after 1 week, but it really depends on the type of work. -
I worked out tonight...or so I thought, until I read your post! LOL Wow, talk about inspiring...keep it up!

How do you really feel?! LOL Fantastic/inspirational post! Congratulations! -
Good video clip as to why you shouldn't drink for 30 minutes, after eating.

Can I drink as fast as is comfortable?
Who Dat 70461 replied to VSG_Barbie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was afraid something was wrong...3 days post op and I was drinking as much as I wanted! LOL I even posted on here about it...found out I wasn't alone. Some can drink as much as they want, others cannot, nothing to worry about, just drink at a pace that is comfortable for you. -
Yep, the one in the belly button was nasty lookin' for a few weeks.

Sitting here eating a salad
Who Dat 70461 replied to Kelsnikol's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL It'll get easier...not sure the temptation ever goes away...just gets more tolerable. I am 10 weeks post op and had a decent sized salad tonight too! -
Is anyone able to,,,
Who Dat 70461 replied to AddryW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been able to eat cold cereal since week 6 and oatmeal since week 3 (10 weeks now). Special K has a High Protein version that is great and 10 grams of protein per serving. -
You did far better than most would've done! Went to ACME last week...couldn't resist, had to have a few char-broiled ersters!
-
I had the same fear...liquids were no problem 2 days post op. I just knew something was wrong! LOL Even tolerated pureed foods quite well. It wasn't until I started on mushy foods that I felt somewhat restricted. Now (10 weeks out), I can still handle liquids just fine, but 4-5 ounces of anything of substance is my limit...which is a good thing!
