Welcome!
I was always a chubby girl. Chubby turned into overweight, overweight turned into obese. Gained 45 lbs during my first pregnancy. Achieved morbidly obese status @ 245lbs. Started looking into WLS June '09. Got pregnant again 5 months post-partum. At the end of my second pregnancy in July 2011, I saw my highest weight, 253 lbs.

November 2011, I started going through the requirements to prove that WLS was a medical necessity, including 6 months of BLAST classes, (Bariatric Lifestyle After Surgery Teaching), meetings with dietician, nutritionist and psychologist. I was approved for surgery in April of 2012, and had my surgery date set for June 4, 2012. On May 31, my husband and I found out we were expecting our 3rd child. Thankfully, my approval for WLS was good until Oct 2013. I had my third daughter in Jaunary, developed gallstones, decided to get the sleeve instead of the Lapband so the surgeries could be done simultaneously.

SO GLAD I CHOSE THE SLEEVE!! I think that it was all God's timing. If I had gotten the Lapband, I feel like I would have had some issues down the road. I think the extra nine months of pregnancy made me realize that I was not comfortable with a foreign object being in my body for the rest of my life, and maybe not being able to eat bread or pasta or steak.
My surgery date was May 9, I was in the hospital 5 days due to nausea from anesthesia. Feeling great, meeting my daily protein and water goals, lots of energy! Life is beautiful and I feel beautiful even though i have only lost 5 lbs, because for the first time in my life, I have hope. And hope is hella powerful! I know I am early in my journey, but please let me know if you have any questions about the Sleeved lifestyle- I would love to help!
