Go to your doctor every time it happens!! That way it's documented in case you need skin removal surgery. It'll make the process much easier!!

Huge regret, what have I done? So sad.
riss523 replied to GGJIMENEZ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on April 16th. I am also having the same problem. When I talked to my surgeon about it he didn't seem concerned. Then I talked to my nut who was concerned. She talked to the surgeon who finally looked into it and found that my sleeve takes a bad curve so food gets stuck and it is very hard for me to digest or eat much of anything comfortably. But he says they won't do anything about it until about 6 months out. So definitely talk to your surgeon and nut. They may have to do another upper GI on you to see what's going on!!!! -
There's lots of toning exercises you can do at home with out a lot of gym equipment. You can always grab a workout DVD as well. I love Jillian Michaels and Shaun T!! Google some different exercises!! There's tons!!! Good luck!!! :-)

I'm sorry to hear that.. Which flavor did you try? I guess it's all in what you like. I can't imagine drinking chocolate or vanilla shakes that often. I do the vanilla pure protein from Walmart but its almost $8 for 4 shakes. And they're to sweet so I drink them sparingly.

My dr just had us do basically a low/no fat, low cal, low card diet. It was actually a really easy to stick to!!!

I get mine from nutmeg state nutrition. It's a store by my house you can order online from them if there's not a physical store near you. The pure Protein I get from Walmart. -

I like the vanilla pure protein. Or if you like juice try proti diet shakes. They have all different flavors. Pink lemonade and kiwi strawberry are a couple of my faves! -
I was also sleeved on 4/16!! Only down 15lbs since surgery... What am I doing wrong?? Ugh!!
-
Me!! But you already knew that! Lol. How are things going for you??

Loved this!!!! Congratulations on your success!!! And best wishes for the rest of your journey!!! <hugs> :-)

I now know I totally made the right decision!
riss523 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So after having a really crappy day, my son came home from school with a Mother's Day plant for me!! Totally a surprise this year I didn't even know they were doing one! He threw away all of the flyers!! He used his own money to buy it! He gave me a huge hug and said thank you for getting healthy for me!! (I also quit smoking 8 months ago!!) he totally made my day and made the sadness of what happened this morning all go away! I now know without a doubt I made the right decision!!! -
So sick and tired of all the judgmental people in my life!! I just got the 3rd degree from a skinny minnie coworker about (healthy) recipes that I had posted on Facebook. Are you kidding me?? As if going thru this major life change wasn't hard enough!!! She's telling me by me posting recipes it's making me more depressed! Bullcrap!!! She's never been fat in her life and has no idea what it feels like!!! I hate cooking!! I was never taught how to cook so I never liked doing it!! Now with this surgery I'm forced to cook. I need to know that there are healthy EASY recipes that I can make!!!! Ugh!!!! So over people!!!!! Ok that's my rant for the day!!!

I was given dissolvable Prevacid. I was in the hospital for 2 nights and they have me anti nausea meds in the hospital. It was gone by the time I was ready to go home. Keep a pillow handy!! When you have to cough or hiccup or sneeze, squeeze the pillow against your stomach!! It helped sooooo much!!!! Good luck with your recovery and lifelong journey!!! I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and it gets better and easier!!!
-
Relax!! Your only 3 weeks out!!! Where did you expect you'd be 3 weeks out? It's a marathon journey, not a sprint!!! It will happen!! Weigh yourself and take your measurements on the same day only once a week. Track your progress. Don't put a lot of stress on yourself about it!!!

How much time off before returning to work?
riss523 replied to Linkin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was physically ready to go back in about 10 days or so... I hate my job and its really stressful and I still am not mentally ready to return to work. I was sleeved on 4/16. I have a desk job in a call center and I'm not comfortable in a sitting position for eve an hour!! So I can totally forget about sitting for 8 hours!!! And I am very belchy (I burp after eating or drinking anything!! And not just 1 burp and done. No I keep going!!!) and like I said I work in a call center and I'm on the phone all day!!!! I'm gonna have my dr keep me out for at least 6 weeks!!! -
Biggest regrets about getting the sleeve?
riss523 replied to NewSetOfCurves's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm just over 3 weeks out (sleeved 4/16) I did totally regret my decision at first. It was very hard to cook for my family or smell food cooking knowing I couldn't have any! I wasn't physically hungry at all... It's tough to get over the head hunger!!! It is getting easier, but it's still hard. But I'm not that hard on myself because I'm still new at this huge change and learning every day!! Everyone I spoke to prior to surgery said it was the best thing they ever did... But not one of them said anything about how hard (emotionally) the first few week are!!! I've had people tell me that I'm weak and I'm taking the easy way out.. I assure you, IT'S NOT!!!! My sister won't speak to me anymore because I'm "weak & took the easy way road!!" Best of luck to you on your journey!!!!!! -

Is going on vacation 4 weeks postop unrealistic?
riss523 replied to Kimd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm going on a cruise to Bermuda and I will be just hitting 6 weeks out... I just need to remind myself that I'm there to relax and get a good tan!! Not to taste all of the food onboard!! At least I know I'll get plenty of exercise walking the ship and the island!! Have a blast and relax!! If you are depressed I think that vacation will help you greatly!!! -
Wearing Jeans again.
riss523 replied to gibson_girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Woohoo!!! I'll be 3 weeks post op on tues, and I wore jeans today!!! The same jeans that were tight on me the weekend before surgery now fit just a bit loose!!!!! Love it!!!!!!! -
I started using that app presleeve when I was 130lbs overweight. I signed up for a 5k this coming September and I wanted to get a head start on training for it! Especially since I knew I was going to lose a few weeks post op!! Just go at your own pace! Listen to your body!!!

I couldn't do the isopure shakes. They just didn't taste good at all!!!! I use the pure protein vanilla (chocolate is ok but I prefer vanilla) but I make them really cold. I put them in the freezer for just a little bit!!! My other favorite is the proti diet!! They are like juice to me! Pink lemonade is one of my faves!! But they have all kinds of flavors. I also make ice pops out of them as well. Health wise is another favorite of mine. Yummy hot cocoa!!! And chicken soup! I did a medical weight loss a couple of years ago and discovered these products! I'm very glad I did!! And once I'm allowed to have solids again health wise has fantastic protein bars!! Strawberry cheesecake, peanut butter and jelly, and peanut butter (tastes like a reeses cup!!) yummy yummy!!!!

Swallowing pills and Anti-Depressants after sleeved?
riss523 replied to Heather Meyer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told as long as the pill is smaller than an m&m I would be fine. But you should definitely talk to your surgeon and the dr that prescribes your pills!! -
is anyone taking multi vitamin capsules
riss523 replied to toy27's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I take the flinstones chewables.. It works well I take mine and my son takes his! He thinks its funny that his old mom is taking the same vitamins!! Lol. I also take the solutabs of Prevacid and a B12. Thru actually taste good.. Cherry flavor!! :-) the only actual pill I take and I've been taking since the day I came home from the hospital is my synthroid. But it's a very small pill. -
