How Much Had You Lost At 7 Weeks Out?
CocoCocoon replied to Alison1227's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seven weeks out, I was worried because I had "only" lost 25 lbs since the day of surgery on May 9th. I have now lost 60 lbs and have 20 more to go to reach my goal of having a BMI of 24 and be in the "normal weight" range. If I count the weight lost on the pre-surgery diet the week or so before, I have lost 70 lbs in less than 7 months. Like you, I was afraid I would be a slow loser, but my weight loss has actually been very good and I an ever so happy with the results. At the beginning we're so impatient, but then as we start to enjoy our new bodies, we relax a bit and stop obsessing about our weight, but the weight keeps falling off. Please don't worry, you will make it to your goal! -

Hi Steve, I did see a doctor at Fletcher Allen, or actually, the surgeon who removed my gall bladder talked to me about bariatric surgery. I happen to be living in India right now though, so I ended up getting it done here by a surgeon who worked in the US for ten years. I was absolutely terrified about the surgery but everything went great and I'm very, very happy I had it. I've had no problems at all. Best of luck on your journey and congratulations on making this life changing decision! -

Absolutely beautiful! You have done a great job!! Good luck with those last 20 pounds. If you get them off, that's wonderful. If not, you look fantastic anyway -- and I'm sure you feel fantastic as well! -

Any Vermonters going to Mexico?
CocoCocoon replied to babsvt's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi babst! I'm from Vermont (Middlebury/Burlington) but I had my surgery 6 weeks ago in India with a surgeon who worked in the States for many years. The difference is that I've been living here for almost two years due to my husband's job so it makes it all very simple. I paid about $6000 all inclusive, including follow ups. Very good experience all the way around! I actually preferred the surgeon here to one in Burlington. He has an excellent record and has done about 4000 weight loss surgeries. I've heard high-risk patients come to him from throughout the whole country. Good luck with everything and keep us informed. -
I too am in a 16, just over six weeks out, down 34 (not 35) pounds and 9 pounds away from one-derland! What I love is that there is an excellent chance I'll never see this weight again. Good luck on the rest of your journey and congratulations to those who have made this important decision and are still waiting to be sleeved! Yes, it is the best thing!

Honestly, who has had zero problems
CocoCocoon replied to sparker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was May 9th and I haven't had any problems whatsoever. Almost no pain at all from the incisions, no vomiting or other digestive issues. I haven't had trouble with any particular foods either. At the hospital on the second day they only kept giving me apple juice which made me feel a bit sick to my stomach, but when I switched over to broth that problem resolved itself. That was the most trouble I've had. I have lost 25 lbs since the day of surgery so I am currently averaging 4 lbs lost per week. I'm very happy I had the surgery! -

Call your doctor. That sounds terrible, and it definitely isn't normal. I hope you get it resolved quickly. -

Down 2 sizes...anyone else shopping?
CocoCocoon commented on zempress's blog entry in zempress' Blog
I'm two weeks post-op and I've lost a few inches - 3 on my bust, and 2 each on my waist and hips. I went bra shopping and found that I'd gone from a 42G with an extender to a perfect 40F in a minimizer. And the best part of all is that it's so pretty! I also bought a button-down shirt that actually fits great. It makes such a huge difference in showing off the weight loss, don't you think? What did you buy? -
You poor dear! I'm sure that this will eventually get resolved. Find the best doctor possible if it doesn't happen soon to get a second opinion. It will be worth it!

How much weight did you lose in the first two weeks post-op?
CocoCocoon posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would really appreciate it if some of you ladies who started with a BMI around 40 could tell me how much weight you lost in the first two weeks post-op and also one month post-op. I'd love to hear the rest of the monthly progression as well if you'd care to share it. Thanks so much!
