Post op itching

Call your doctor. That sounds terrible, and it definitely isn't normal. I hope you get it resolved quickly. -
Down 2 sizes...anyone else shopping?
CocoCocoon commented on zempress's blog entry in zempress' Blog
I'm two weeks post-op and I've lost a few inches - 3 on my bust, and 2 each on my waist and hips. I went bra shopping and found that I'd gone from a 42G with an extender to a perfect 40F in a minimizer. And the best part of all is that it's so pretty! I also bought a button-down shirt that actually fits great. It makes such a huge difference in showing off the weight loss, don't you think? What did you buy? -
You poor dear! I'm sure that this will eventually get resolved. Find the best doctor possible if it doesn't happen soon to get a second opinion. It will be worth it!

How much weight did you lose in the first two weeks post-op?
CocoCocoon posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would really appreciate it if some of you ladies who started with a BMI around 40 could tell me how much weight you lost in the first two weeks post-op and also one month post-op. I'd love to hear the rest of the monthly progression as well if you'd care to share it. Thanks so much! -
Denied!
CocoCocoon replied to Red_lips_and_confidence's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
These are both resolvable. They're just going to make you work for it but I'm sure you'll get it approved eventually. You just have to play their game and persevere. DON'T GIVE UP!! -
Such great news. Congratulations!!

Laying flat to sleep
CocoCocoon replied to free2live's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I slept on my back with my head slightly raised and a pillow on each side under my forearms while I was at the hospital, but started sleeping on my side the second night post-op. I'm 8 days post-op now and just woke up from sleeping on my stomach this morning! -
I feel good but since I'm still on clear liquids I am very hungry much of the time and quite weak in the morning until I get a good bit of "food" in me which takes a couple of hours. I'm ready to hit the treadmill around noon but not before. Protein shakes are going to be a welcome addition to my diet!

any one here ..from LAS VEGAS GOING TO OBAND
CocoCocoon replied to blackie220's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I got my sleeve May 9th and I was really, really terrified the days leading up to surgery. I read here about some people who wanted to run out of the hospital they were so scared but their husbands stopped them. Months later those people were very happy they'd had their surgery. As for me, the past six days have not been that difficult at all. Everything has gone much better than I expected and I'm sure it will be the same for you. You made this decision because in your gut you knew you could handle it. You really will be fine. Soon you will be enjoying the new slimmer, healthier, and more active you! -
I get to post in the post op forum now!
CocoCocoon replied to May142013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's fantastic! I was sleeved last Thursday and was sooo happy when I was feeling well later that day. Keep us informed on your progress but I just know you're going to do great! -
Hi Kohe, I'm happy you found us! I came close to vomiting while I was brushing my teeth the second morning post-op but managed to settle down. I found I have to really limit fruit juices because they're too acidic. That cream of tomato soup sounds yummy!

Oh Healthiernewme, you are the first person I've found who had surgery the same day as me - May 9th, right? So far my experience has been just like yours, really quite easy. The difference is that I've only lost 1 lb. post-op, but I'm hoping that will change very soon! Best of luck on your journey to a healthier new you!

Only down 1 lb. 4 days post-op. Am I going to be a slow loser?
CocoCocoon replied to CocoCocoon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Actually it is the surgeon himself, and his staff, who keep saying definitely at least 15 and up to 20 kg which is at least 33 up to 44 pounds the first month. I keep questioning it and they keep reassuring me. It seems awfully high to me too. As for exercise I walked two miles yesterday, and over a mile today according to my pedometer and I plan to increase up to four miles during the first month pre-op. I'm in India so the diet might be a bit different. I can only have transparent liquids for the first week home. Fresh strained coconut water, apple juice, chicken stock, vegetable stock, lentil cooking water. These caloric liquids I can have a total of a pint and a half of per day. Add to that a quart and a half of water and Chrystal Light. After that is prescribed four weeks of a blended diet. By the way, my surgeon worked in the USA for many years and has done over 4000 surgeries, but only about 1000 sleeves. He has the reputation to be the best in the country. I guess I'll know soon enough! Thanks so much to everyone for your feedback. -
Only down 1 lb. 4 days post-op. Am I going to be a slow loser?
CocoCocoon posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! I have had a very good VSG experience so far but I am only down one pound and I am on clear liquids. I was told repeatedly that I would definitely lose between 30 and 40 pounds the first month. Has any one else started slowly like me and still had a great weight loss the first month? Or if this an indication that it's going to be a very slow process. I would appreciate hearing what experiences you've all had after getting off to a slow start. Thanks so much! -
when is your surgery date?
CocoCocoon replied to elliscoastie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery was May 9th in Hyderabad, India where I'm living temporarily due to my husband's job. Great surgeon, very nice clinic. Everything went great and I feel good. I was TERRIFIED before surgery, by the way, but everything has gone much better than I'd expected. I'm sure it will be the same for those of you who are anxious and nervous pre-surgery as well. Good luck to you all! -
New sleeve sometimes feels crampy
CocoCocoon replied to Kristen125's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My surgery was May 9th and I still get cramping too but it's better every day. For some reason warm broth doesn't bother me as much as water though. Neither does apple juice or coconut water. (That's the extent of my diet at this point). -

Good luck to you Sophia! My surgery is Thursday and I'm really nervous too, but that's normal. Let us know how it went as soon as you feel well enough to post!
