    Back pain

I have the same horrible back troubles...I am 3 days post op and my nurse allowed me to use 2 heating pads the first day in the hospital because I couldn't stand it, and I usually have a very high pain tolerance...one of the heating pads for my back and one for my upper abdomen, my problem was GAS! Those gas pains for me are HORRIBLE! That is what is causing my upper abdominal and back pressures. Everyone says the more you walk the faster the gas will be relieved... but for me the gas pressure is what makes it difficult to walk, it is like a double edged sword...lets just hope it decreases more rapidly soon!
  2. I'm 3 days post op and I have been finding it so hard to be able to drink...everytime I sip anything I'm instantly nauseous and start burping. If anyone else has had this trouble please tell me...and if so, when did it stop for you?

    June 11 surgery day

I'm glad to hear you are doing well. Yesterday was my surgery as well, sadly I am in a lot of pain and not able to keep much down. The gas pressure is horrible and also affecting my back...hopefully the pain goes down by tomorrow. I hope you are on the fast track to recovery, you sound like you are doing well so far, keep it up! Good luck!
  4. I'm so sorry. I'm actually on my second day now in the hospital. I have been having HORRIBLE abdominal and back pains. Everytime I get pain meds I get immediately sick and start gagging...haven't actually vomited yet, but been very close to! I was hoping the second day would be better, so far not so much. So I understand what you are going through, let's both hope for a faster recovery! No pain, no gain. Stay strong

    I was approved...

I cannot believe it. After so much anxiety and worrying about being denied I was approved for surgery. When I got that call just a little bit ago, my heart practically stopped. The reality that I will no longer be so overweight hit me. I started breaking down. I have been overweight my whole life and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Being 19, I was worried they thought I was too young and not yet mature enough. I just feel extremely lucky, I get the opportunity to change my life around and set my future on the right path. I almost feel at ease, everything will be alright.
