Thank you to the OP for posting. I come to these boards to read about as many of peoples experiences with this surgery and on the surgical experience in Mexico in particular. That to me means all experiences. Being seen naked by other patients wasn't something I considered as a posibility. It's good to know that it is, even if it is only a remote posibility. I've read nothing that had deterred my interest in having surgery in Mexico. I'm also a Canadian. Bariatric surgery is performed at my local hospital and is covered by my provincial plan. It wouldn't cost me anything to have the surgery and I would likely receive 6 weeks paid time off of work. My choice is still to go to MX. I believe the bariatric surgeons there perform significantly more gastric sleeve procedures. There also isn't the wait time in MX as there is in Canada. I'm comfortable that my decision is no less dangerous in MX than it would be in Canada. For the Nurse that said she wouldn't consider surgery in Mexico... You have every right to not consider it. It is your personal opinion. However posting your opinion on a thread in this forum serves no benefit to the readers here. I've seen you post your opinion on another thread in the self-pay/mexico forum. I was puzzled because your opinion not to have surgery in Mexico isn't remotely relevant in a forum for people interested in surgery in Mexico.

I like the idea of a table. I understand the risk that the results might be watered down by the possibilities that co-ordinators might be posting their "results" posing as patients. That being said, we are all at risk for this occurring to our own results. Many of us have made charts or have taken notes collecting our information. It seems wise to me to pool our efforts and organize this information. If I was at all competant with spreadsheets, you can bet I would have one to submit right now. I'm still in the process of selecting my Doctor. A number of factors are at play for me: Airport to fly into, Cost, Experience, Operation location, Drain vs. no Drain, Dr. Experience, Hospital Stay, Same day Surgery, Post op medications, Accomodations in Hospital, Hotel accomodations. Most of the factors that I'm interested in will have very firm unbiased answers. Since the accumulation of a lot of these factors could significantly assist me (and others) in deciding on a surgeon, I don't see where the risk would be? I for one, would be happy to assist in the making of the chart by providing the information that I've gathered.

I would say the articles in Cosmo or other popular women's magazines are similar in nature to the articles in Men's Health and Maxim. Both of which are sold by the tic tacs and juicy fruit.

I'm in the same boat. I've decided to get this done in Mexico and am currently researching doctors. It's very overwhelming. I've decided on a doctor and then I'll read about another doctor and start considering them. Airport is an issue for me. There seems to be a better flight selection into San Diego than some of the other destinations. I wish it was easier to decide.
