  1. After many months of preperations....I have my arrival time for surgery tomorrow...and I have to be there at 11:30. So hard to believe it is finally time...kinda like preparing for a baby to be born....LOL...And just like in that fashion...I have been "nesting" getting everything cleaned and prepared for my family for the time that I will be in the hospital...did anyone else do this? I have 3 kids ages 3, 8, and 17, and a fiance.....not sure they can survive 48 hours without me!

    3 day liquid diet

Well...today is day 3 of my clear liquid diet...Things are going well. I would have to say that things have been pretty smooth so far. I did get a bit light headed but got home and had some chicken broth and I feel much better now. Been feeling like I am "nesting" getting as much finished as I can before my surgery on Thursday. Not sure if anyone else has gone through that too...strange..I have been able to get more done in the last couple of days that I usually do in a weeks time. Guess I am better under pressure! I still have alot to get done before I go into the hospital, I know that Mike and the kids will do fine while I am gone, but I always feel like I have to get everything done without help. I just want to be supported through it all.
  3. ok....Had my nutrionist meeting the other day..and they want us to eat something for breakfast that has protein in it...then between breakfast and lunch to get a protein shake in and 12 ounces of water...then lunch and the again between lunch and dinner protein shake and water...then dinner..have to try and get in 75-90 grams of protein a day

  8. Well...Chickie....time to put those voices of negativitly on the back burner.....Time to utilize the tool that you worked hard to get.....now that you can eat "real" food again....you have to get back to the basics...Remember to eat your lean proteins 1st and you might want to get back to if you are not already and start journally what you eat...make sure you are getting your water in and some protein shakes to help with your cravings...Hopefully this helps a bit...We all know it is hard but in the long run you will be so much happier...dont surrender be a survivor!
  9. I think all of us struggle with the idea of not eating platefuls of food when choosing this surgery....Currently on my clear liquid diet...I have surgery tomorrow and yesterday was hard cuz it was the 1st full meal I cooked for my family since I started my liquid diet and I wasnt hungry but my head was say damn wouldnt that taste good...I had to fight the temptation to l lick my fingers after putting the food on my kids plates...but I remembered the journey I began and want to succeed with. I know the journey is a scary one to start but things are gonna be ok...you made a choice and you will do great....We all struggle with the fact that we will not be able to enjoy the foods that we over induldge in right now.... Keep your head up and remember and see the path ahead of you and things will be GREAT!
  10. ok...none of us would be in our situations if we didnt LOVE food.....I am a carb addict....I admit it....but I will tell you one thing this journey has really opened my eyes to alot of stuff...Not sure where you are located and if you are having your surgery locally to you...We have support groups that meet here for Bariatric patients...I have to say that I really enjoy going and sharing with others in the same situation...

    Im ticked- husband losing faster

U poor thing...I am sorry you are going through this right now. It must be very difficult. I have been worried bout dealing with a lazy Ole man that doesnt want to get up to move 1 ft to get his garbage can to throw his snack stuff away and I am on my liquid diet...so he calls me from the back of the house to get his garbage can....so I feel your pain...He told me that I am not gonna use my surgery as an excuse to be lazy...I know he is just giving me a hard time but really....here I was gonna try and help you and started venting myself...sorry I sure hope you can look past what he is doin and realize that you are doing great! Keep working hard and you will reap the rewards!!

    Foamy mouth

we talked bout this topic in our support group the other day...and come to find out it is a built in defence your body does once you get full and it feels you might puke...according the Gastro Dr. it protects your teeth when when you vomit from stomach acid...not sure if this helps but this is what we discussed in group.

I would say that is a great accomplishment! 61 lbs is a great loss...everyone is different and will lose differently....but you wouldnt have lost that if you hadnt made the choice for surgery....CONGRATS

Great job...you are definately a success story that many want to achieve...now saying that...remember my friends those that are still a size 24 like myself...we all want to be smaller and would have or still say if I could only fit a size 14...this would still be an accomplishment worth celebrating!

    Size of Sleeve

I think it all depends on your surgeon....My surgeon told a member of our support group that her stomach was the size of his thumb...holds approx 2 oz.
