If you really wanna quit smoking cigarettes you should ask your doc for a Chantix prescription. I smoked for 13 years and never thought I could ever quit. But after taking it for even a week the cravings have stopped, I took it for another month after that and now I don't think I will ever go back to smoking

What foods do you no longer like?
Alyslanta replied to anglicanchic85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eggs used to be my favorite thing to eat for breakfast lunch and dinner and while I was on an all liquid diet right after surgery I couldn't wait to finally eat eggs again. But I think I've eaten 2 eggs in the past 2 months and the thought of them kinda grosses me out. When I ate them they tasted normal and delicious but I don't think I will try them again. At least not for a while -
I have recently started running and its not something I ever thought I would be able to do. I was a smoker for 13 years before my surgeon told me to quit and I was at your weight when I started running. I looked up a bunch of running tips before I started getting into it and my favorite one was to at first run slow enough to carry on a conversation. I felt sort of lame going so slow at first, but now a month later I am able to run 3.5-4 miles without stopping at all and my peace is much faster too. I know it's still way far from what you have to do to run a marathon, but I am pretty proud of myself

Help! Need to lose 4 lbs before my surgery!
Alyslanta replied to TN_Vols_MiMi's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Okay so this is going to sound bad but I just couldn't lose the last couple of pounds right before the surgery and I was so stressed about it. It was awful, I was terrified that those last 2-3 pounds were gonna stand in the way between me and my surgery. So the night before my husband wrapped me in plastic and trash bags all over and I put on sweats. I slept this way all night without air conditioning and the next morning before my pre-op appointment I did I workout too. I also didn't drink anything till after I saw my doc. It was a miserable experience but I dropped the last 2 pounds and the surgery went just fine the next day. I know they tell you to diet to shrink your liver and I totally get that but I seriously doubt 2 pounds really make that much of a difference if you have already lost most of the weight you were told to
