loosening a alot of hair. ..

Nothing prevents hair loss - if there was, we would all be sharing the secret! It's as a result of the immediate aftermath of surgery and the trauma. Eating well helps the re growth but there's nothing you can do about the hair loss. Mine's been going since I was three months out and only now at 8 months am I seeing new growth. I lost about 50% of my volume but use Toppik (hair fibres) that you puff into the roots and it fills in thinness and gaps. Been a lifesaver for me... But, for me, whose best feature was her hair, it has been a small price to pay for my weight loss. And as I got smaller, I haven't needed as much hair to balance out my body ))))

Stunning - what a great transformation, congratulations!
  7. Sorry double post from the technically illiterate!
  8. I am 8 months out and while there was a period post-surgery where I wished I could eat and drink together the way I used to, it was a bad habit that I have managed to kick. As PdxMan says, drinking allows you to fit more food in but way more food than we actually need. In the old days, I couldn't eat a meal without a pint of liquid but I didn't understand why. Now that I realise it was how I managed to get more food it, I never want to do it again. But it's just another one of the choices we make along the road, each to their own....

    Let's make mistakes in 2014

Sophiepants, many of the most successful people have made mistakes - but they've learned from them and gone on to greater things. Why shouldn't that be us?

    Feeling Discouraged :(

First thing, banish any thoughts of failure - that's not an option with you having come this far - and any way, none of us will let you head off down that route! Great suggestions so far. Think back to the first few months and see what, if anything, you are doing differently. We can pick up new bad habits even if we are sleeved... Change the kind of exercise you are doing, mix it up as our bodies do get used to what we do and get lazy. Protein first, again vary what you eat. My biggest thing is planning my meals and having the right foods at home. Make sure you are actually eating enough, that's as bad as eating too much. Likewise, check your Fluid intake as that can slow weight loss if it is too low. Finally get a ticker and own where you are. I hated mine at first (and it doesn't even start at the point I was at my heaviest) but there's a sense of achievement if you can see where you are going. Not easy but worth it. That's my tuppenceworth - but please don't let your inner critic wreck all the good work you've done and have yet to do. This too will pass and you will be back losing weight before you know it - I promise, just have faith in yourself and your sleeve!

    Merry Christmas to Me!

Congratulations! That was a big commitment, sacrificing Christmas to get sleeved - but I understand why you would do that... Great family too! Re the food, that's pretty quick to move to soft foods, my doc had me go through liquids and mushy foods before soft foods at 6 weeks out. Just check it's soft foods not mushy stuff you are moving on to :-) Keep it simple and stick to what's on your plan. Nothing processed, Protein is the priority. At the soft foods stage, I was allowed very moist chicken/tuna (I gave it a quick whack in the food processor to make it a bit more mushed and added milk) scrambled egg, ground beef, poached fish, avocado, cottage cheese and added a little soft veggies, banana and other soft cheeses. I also kept eating thick Soup with added milk for extra protein.Other people had shrimp, scallops etc Hope this is helpful - and good luck on your journey!

    I Lost ******* in 2013

I have two pairs - one red suede with a moderately high heel and fire engine red shiny, high heel wicked girl boots. Just google red high heeled boots and step back in amazement... Am sure your new friends will love them, although I think you will be positively Amazonian by the time you add 6 inch heels.... And yes, spiky heels and the devil's juice do not mix well... you can really do yourself a mischief. Whether you feel it at the time or not depends on how much you have had to drink :-))))))) Ps a mobility scooter ??? I can just see you, streamers flying out of the handles, ringing the bell, little basket on the front for the Guinness.....

Revs, think you'd suit them .... got them online and they are gorgeous. Was trying to recreate a Debbie Harry look from many years ago, lol x Oooh, do they do size 9's/43's? Sadly, one of the many features I inherited from the Irish side - massive boats masquerading as feet Be careful for what you wish for - yes, they do them in Size 9s, lol. Can't wait to see them you strut your stuff - we will need pics!!!
