well which proteins shakes are for what?? i was getting the gnc protein powders and was just told they are for gaining weight. i have been using since i got banded! is there a difference of weight gaining and whatever other ones are out there? i'm getting confused here:confused: -

no, i can tell you're a nice person but in the beginning i was like, well...excuse me!!! lol. it kind of sort of made me feel badly at 1st. i'm totally ok now though:)

:eek::eek:i thought i was reading the labels ok. like i thought, if i recall, the label for the gnc soy protein was about 5grams of sugar and i cant remember off the top of my head how much carbs but i thought it was low, like under 12:confused:. wow wow wow!!! as far as the chilli, i didnt start eating that so much until i started coming on these types of sites and everyone was saying how good it is and such. wow! oh and the asian chicken salad is made by Don Lee Farms. the nutriton facts says" serving size 54g serving per container 18 (i dont see that but whatever...lol) calories per serving 180 total fat 13g sat fat 2g, trans fat 0g sodium 440mg total carb 9g sugars 2g protein 7g ok...so back to the drawing board i suppose. so now my question is, what should i eat???? i'm totally confused now. so now the protein drink is NOT good for me. so what kind of protein drink should i have. i love them. i love making my smoothies w/it. wow, what can i do?:help:

thanks for your help and to be honest, initially your note sounded a bit condenscending. like i ONLY do x amount of LITE cardio and ALL those sesame sticks..blah blah... kind of like when a skinny person is telling a fat person, "if you stop eating you wouldnt be fat!" type of tone. so we're past that now. i'm ok:) it would be easier i guess if you told me or gave me a sample of days menu. the yogurts i eat are la yogurt lite. i just switched to that brand and i think thats the name. i have always eaten breyers fat free. this new brand has 100 calories, 6oz. the crab cakes, granola, sunflower seeds is where it gets sketchy. i buy them from the amish and they dont put labels on their stuff so i know thats a big red flag and i had problems with that before BUT i guess i got caught up in it tasting so good that i got over the non label issue:( the cheeses are fat free individually wrapped. the brand varies from kraft to store name. i drink soy milk, regular or lite with my Protein shakes and Cereal. when i do eat cereal i eat grape nut cereal. i was eating kashi but switched to grapenuts. i havent eaten cereal in about 2 wks though. i do eat chilli often, either small wendys or 1 cup of campbells(beef or turkey) the asian chicken salad i picked up from bjs last nite. i dont recall the name brand though. its enough to serve a family really and i will probably end up having 2 servings of it. um...what else....oh i eat tilapia like everyday but havent in about 4-5 days though, well actually since i had my adjustment so about a week now. i love tilapia!! what do you recommend? i lost most of my weight right after the surgery. 30lbs in about 30 days, give or take. but once i got to introducing solid foods is where the loss stopped. i was eating the same things that i did pureed and soft. i was too scared to eat any thing else or try to eat sweets and old things i was used to. what can i do? i have no problem changing my regimen. i know i have to be honest with myself to be honest with you and everybody else! thanks again. oh and my stats are in my signature. also i'm 5'7" ps. i usually drink chocolate or strawberry gnc Protein Drink but thought i would "treat" myself with cookies and cream. is that flavor not good? whats the verdict on that?

i dont have a Protein shake with my breakfast. clarification would be that as my 2nd breakfast i drink a protein shake, like 3 hrs later. i may be consuming more than i think but the honeyglazed sticks were probably like a half of a palm size when i ate them. it was just a couple. anyhow i stopped eating them as well as the granola and still nothing! i said "lite and minor" because thats what the program calls it that i do it with. minor strength training is my description because it was only about about 20minute with 3lb hand weights and 1lb gloves. this is new to me, the band, exercising, eating better so i'm just learning. i have asthma also so its a little scary when i cant catch my breath but i am trying and willing to devote the time to this, my health. i'm about 100lbs more than you. i need to work up to where you are. i'm sure i'll be able to do 100minutes one day too.

ok cool, thanks. yesterday i was busy so i had Protein shakes(gnc-cookies n cream) mixed with yogurt(6oz,fat free, 100cals), 2 strawberries, small banana and a T of Peanut Butter. i had this for breakfast and lunch. i promise i just had 2 pinch size pieces of an oatmeal raisen cookie dinner- 1/2 cup of wendys chilli i also had 2 SF fudge popsicles and a couple pieces of SF candy 1/4C of no salt sunflower seeds. today i had: B-6oz fat free cherry yogurt L- 1 small crabcake, 2 pieces of turkey pastrami with a piece of fat free cheese(rolled up, no bread) and 4 wheatable multigrain crackers Snack- SF fudge popsicle, 3 piece of SF candy D- (i plan on having) asian chicken salad. its pre-made, you just add the lettuce. i never had it before. the chicken is cut up already and cooked and has sesame sticks in it. it probably has a dressing too which i will not "dump" on my salad anyway. please help!!:help: should i eat more protein, nevermind vegetables and fruits? it seems like i need so much to feel satisfied. i just got my 2nd fill a week ago and only lost about 3lbs. what can i do. i also exercise some and trying to up that as we speak. i did count calories and was having about 1200 or less and still saw no results. i just stayed the same

i would definitely do it again!! i only wish i did it sooner in life. why did i wait sooo long!!! i lost 30lbs in the 1st month and lost another 8lbs give or take in the past 2months. the loss did slow down tremedously and i do get frustrated but i know it will come off! i signed up for slow weight loss so i expected it. i just got spoiled after losing 30lbs super fast but i know it has no choice but to come off. i eat right and i exercise. -
a 10cc band. i dont know how much is in there now but i will find out when i go for my 2nd fill:). i believe the nurse said that band is more restrictive but i dont know what that exactly means. i was asking so many questions and nervous about it being the 1st fill that i didnt ask intelligent normal questions:cry. does anyone know why its the most restrictive? i didnt even know that there were different ones. whats the difference btwn all of them??????:confused:

as long as you know you're not alone with this. try to stay focused and motivated anyway. i surely am and i know its hard!!!:peace:

its very normal and there are threads just like this:). i just replied to one earlier. there are quite a few people in the same boat, including me. after 3-4 days after my first fill i didnt feel anything. it takes alot for me to fill satisfied:hungry:. i'm schedule for a 2nd fill in 2wks.

i didnt want to tell anyone but my husband. i told my mom about 1 month prior to surgery and then i told my immediate family the day i was released from the hospital. that would be about 6 people. i have not told any coworkers or close friends. it was just a very personal issue for me. sometimes i want to tell my close friends but then i remember that you can only tell on yourself. if you want something to be a secret/no on to know, then you cant tell anyone. its starts with you! i just dont feel like people need to know my business. i'm very private too so... the weight is coming off and will be coming off slowly so when i'm asked if i'm losing weight(which is starting to happen) i just say yes and tell most of the truth, that i dont eat fast foods, sugar, soda and junk. enough said:) -
:clap2: i too must agree with the wiping. i was in denial even then. i was wondering why it was hard to do "suddenly" and then i put 2 + 2 together. but the last straw was a simple comment someone made. she was delivering the paper to my house and i was walking down the steps to meet her on the pathway. while stepping down i said, ouch, my knee hurts. she said, "you know why dont you?"(smiling). i said, why? i just thought she was going to joke that i'm getting old, older although i'm only 35 but ha ha, you know. she says, its all that weight thats on you:eek:. i played it off and gave a little chuckle but i was horrified and hurt!! i really dont think she meant it in a mean why, just factual but still it hurt. at that point my eyes opened and i said to myself, enough is enough and what she said is true. i was going to join another weight loss program but then i thought, why not find out more info about wls and i did and i'm happy i did!!:clap2:

i always slept on my stomach but after using the cpap machine i stopped! at 1st after wearing the mask i would still sleep on my stomach but now i just dont want to and i LOVED to sleep on my stomach all my life. i always said i cant fall asleep no other way but i can and i'm fine. i like sleeping on my back and side now:)

i would like more info on this. i'm the same way. i had my 1st fill on the 16th and really after a couple of days it was gone. i'm having another one in 2 wks. -
hi and thanks for welcoming me!! we never met here but i am looking for so much support. i had my surgery done right here in philly by dr. williams at u of p. i had my 1st fill on 5/16 and right before that i had come to standstill!!! i cant take it! right after surgery and for about a month and a half after i did quite well with losing. i lost 30lbs in 4wks so of course i was totally excited!!:clap2:. then nothing. i got the fill and 5lbs came off and then nothing again. so now i'm scheduled for my 2nd fill in 2wks. i am so confused and discouraged by not continuing to lose weight. no matter what i do the scale will not move and i feel like i'm falling behind. a month and basically no change? you know what i mean? i purchased the book today on amazon so i hope it will help and i look forward to reading it. :biggrin1: please keep in touch...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! i am trying to fit in somewhere and find some supportive people to share with. thanks!!!!!!:biggrin1:

thanks!! i think i will pick that book up. i'm going thru something now. i havent lost anymore weight in about a month or so with the exception of my 1st fill. at that point i dropped a couple of pounds but am just sitting there again. i exercise and eat right and drink plenty of water. i dont get it but maybe the book will give some insight:think

i had mine done on 3/12 and i stuck to the menus they recommended. i ate plenty of proteins and no carbs at all...actually. i lost 30lbs in about 2-3wks. talk to your dietician and write down all of what you're eating and see what he/she has to say. exercise too:)

wow, are you kidding about the granola being high in carbs!!!???:eek: i had no idea! do you think that could be the main problem here? actually ever since i started going crazy with the granola is when i started to plateau. i'm stunned because i LOVE LOVE LOVE granola!!! i think i'm going to stop eating it and see what happens. as for everything else the only liquid i drink is water basically and actually. i love water:D and no i dont eat ice cream at all! no way. i have grape nuts cereal for breakfast with soy milk, a protein drink, soy burger for lunch, fish or chicken for dinner with spinach. snacks like i said are GRANOLA, sesame sticks(honeyglazed:eek:) and crackers with low fat or fat free cheese. i'm only getting like 1100 calories in a day....if that! so i cant figure it out. i'll take the granola out of the equation and see what happens. and yes i do exercise. i do lite cardio, pilates and yoga along with minor strenght training. i do this about 3-5 times a week for about 2 wks now. my next fill is on the 25th of this month. thanks for your help!!!
