Yes, I would ,
I sent my papers in about two weeks ago and haven't heard anything, how long has it been for you? I am anxious, I think they are holding a seminar next month in my area. I have been to King's Daughter's seminar and even went for the consult with one of the doctors there but after meeting both (at different times) I really did not like either one of them. They made me feel uncomfortable, more like herding cattle.
Would love to hear from you and your journey.

Hi, I am back online to this site. I started about a year ago but did not care for the doctors or their set up so it's taken me a year later to get it together enough to try other doctor's. Anyway, I have my paperwork in but have not heard anything yet.
I am 53 years old, married to my best friend for almost 30 years. Two children, two grandchildren and one granddog. My family is very important and love spending time with them. I have a great support network with family, friends and church family.
I have severe arthritis and have been disabled for 5 years. Unable to walk, work and everyday mobility has brought me close to 300 lbs. My life took a total change when I could no longer walk, I have to use a walker and a scooter to get around. I am tired of not being able to live my life to the fullest and sitting on the sidelines. That's why I have resorted to Lap Band surgery. When I am able to lose 75 lbs. I hope to be able to have my knees replaced and then get back to a normal life style.
I need a lot of help if anyone wants to contact me, I also would like to have recipes and figure out what to expect after surgery.
I love to cook, sew, play with my grandchildren , attend church activities and was pretty active prior to the health problems after the 100 pound weight gain these last 5 years.

Hi, I just joined last night.
I am married to my best bud for 29 years, I am blessed with two children and 2 grandchildren.
I have my first doctors consult on Thursday. I am 52, need to have both knees replaced, diabetic, high blood pressure and severe arthritis. I walk with a walker. I am looking forward to getting my life back.
I have some questions for pre-op and post op if anyone can help.
I have done all the research and talked to doctors and nurses during and after the 2 different seminars that I have attended but have not talked with anyone that has gone through this.
I am concerned about;
1.) The liquid diet pre-op, How do you get through this without eating
anything? I have tried hundreds of diets including liquid. If I could
have done that would I be here???
2.) Post-op, I know some of the things people have experienced,
foaming? What is that about and why.
3.) I know I am a true foodie, Compulsive Overeater,it scares me to think
of not being able to eat or drink the foods I love (or any food)
during the first 6 weeks. How did you deal with it?
I realize these are pretty silly questions but .....ANY Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Kentuckians,
I am from Eastern Ky, (Prestonsburg). I am going to Ashland to Dr. Thompkins @Kings Daughters Thursday for my first appt.
I would love to hear some of your experiences after surgery. I have attended two seminars and the doctors tell you all the pros and cons but I have yet to talk with anyone that has done the Lanpband, Everyone I know has done the by-pass. That is not for me. I am a little scared of the surgery but more concerned about not getting to eat and grieving for the foods I can't have.
I am at my all time high weight of 290 and my BMI is 58. I have a host of weight related medical problems and I have tried EVERYTHING except surgery.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am wondering about the doctors, I have heard only good things about them but I also know they do surgery at Central Baptist, Georgetown, Hazard and I think someone said another place. Maybe they are stretching themselves to thin and that may be part of the delay too. Of the people that has already done this; what kind of pre-op things you need to do before surgery.
