    Isopure

I recently switched to Isopure because my sleeve has no tolerance for milk, lactaid milk or soy milk. If you drink it ice cold it isn't bad. I prefer getting my protein from food now (sleeved 4/22/13) however that is difficult some days. I do split the bottle and drink half in the morning and half in the afternoon.
  3. HI, I had my sleeve on April 22, 2013 in Christiana, Delaware. I say that second time worked, because in April 2007, I had the lapband and it had to be removed with emergency surgery 36 hours later because of a tear in my esophagus. It took me 5 years to seriously look at bariatrics as an option again. I am so thankful I did. My weight had skyrocked to 303 lbs in August 2012. Between the classes and the two weeks of Optifast pre-op I was down to 266 on the day of surgery. Today I weighed myself and I am down to 255. My pain initially was terrible along with lot of nausea, I did however have alot of scar tissue that had to be removed and my surgery was twice as long as the normal sleeve. I can tolerate liquids well, applesauce, cream of wheat and yogurt. Trying something new every day. No more than an ounce at a time, but that is fine with me. I didn't believe it in class, but now I am living it.and it is so true. I will continue to post with updates. This will also help keep me on track..

    Second time worked

I am wondering how you are doing. I feel great, eating normal food, trying to get my protein in. I am down 27 lbs since surgery.
  5. I was sleeved on April 22, and so far 20 lbs since surgery. I have been having some bowel issues the last three nights so I am back to water, applesauce and baby food. Hopefully tonight will be better. I need to find a routine. I definitely know I made the right decision for me.
  6. Had my two week post-op visit. I have lost 15 lbs since surgery day - 4/22/13. I am still having abdominal discomfort but no sharp pain. Two more weeks out of work. I am cleared to use the treadmill and stationary bike. I do need to learn not to push myself.

    Second time worked

Hi MindfulWeightLoss, Due to the scar tissue, I was told there was a possibility that the surgery could not be done or that I may have to have the surgery done open not laparascopically. I got lucky, my surgeon was able to do it through the scope, I did seem to have more pain and nausea than the others on the floor, but the hospital controlled the pain well and each day is getting better and better. Keep me posted.
