Did a delayed digest test and came back that I am experiencing dumping syndrome with every meal. I don't drink before or after and my didn't hasn't drastically changed. What can be done with sleeveers and dumping syndrome like this?

So since I've moved back home I have been having what I can only describe as lurching fits; it feels like I am trying to throw up but cant. Has anyone had this problem? Worst case scenario is that I will need to transition to a full bypass. For now they have me on reglan, which can cause Parkinson like symptoms...im debating on what seems worse at this point lol Has anyone ever had to go thru this? And if so, what was the outcome?

I can only take so much of that lol im 6 months post op so as long as its not beef or high in carbs and sugar id love some suggestions!

back and joint pain still?
KayCTheNewMe replied to KayCTheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hopefulky something to look forward to then! I know my back is going to be bad because I have scoliosis in my lower back by my tailbone and a nerve going through it pinches no matter what but my tailbone always feels bruised like Ive been sitting for days and the upper back just feels compressed. Its absolutely miserable -
Pre op, starting as a teenager when I wasnt that overweight, I had back and knee pain so bad I was in the er more timea than I can count, especially for my back. So of course gaining 100 lbs didnt help. Im down 70lbs and only 40 to go but my back and knees are actually WORSE than before. I know damage done is damage done but I figured id still somewhat improve. Daily I am in so much pain by the end of the night I am.crying or stuck in bed or on the couch. So my question is has anyone gotten worse pain since losing the weight? If so what options did you have? I am hoping when I get home, I will get sometging better than lidacane patches and capsaicin cream

I'm doing too much and nobody cares!
KayCTheNewMe replied to determined1103's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sorry that you're going through this did they offer help before hand and are now backing out? Not that either way is ok. It makes me nuts hearing of stories like this because it's such an important and stressful surgery that my first thought is to help those you love so they have every chance to succeed. If I was closer is help you!! Just remember when they want something that you're busy or forgot. They'll get the hint -
I think I remember my surgeon saying 30% but I could be wrong
-
But I was only out of work 2 days. My surgeon did a great job working around the scar tissue and I healed within a week. But if you have the option to take it out during ur sleeve, I say do it lol saves a lot of hassle later

I had to have mine out 4 months post, but I had gallstones for 3 months before they found them (thank you army docs) so 1 month post op is when the complications happened
-
It does. I didnt start having the itching and stuff until maybe 3 weeks out. I went for my stiches checked and the rash was still getting worse. I think that was at 4 weeks. And with the gallbladder, which happened 4 months after, happened faster and much worse because I was already exposed to it. It was so annoying but nothing they could do to make it speed up

Regular food...
KayCTheNewMe replied to 140icandoit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was eating regular foods at 6 weeks but just introducing new stff really slow and only having a few small bites to make sure it agreed -
I had an allergic reaction to the anesthesia and it was uncontrolled itching. I also got a rash from head to toe (every one of my pores were red). My surgeon also thought it could be a reaction to the sulfer in the morphine they give you during and post op.it went away after a couple weeks but it was incredibly annoying! I had the same reaction after having my gallbladder out, so thats why they figures anesthesia. Unfortunately benadryl is all u can do

Am i losing my mind?
KayCTheNewMe replied to mittiga's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started freaking out after I was in the bed ready to go. I asked my husband again for the millionth time if he thought I was doing the right thing, if he thought I could do it, or if I ahould just back out now, and he reminded me, again, the decision I made was the right one. Any major surgery, especially one that changes your life so drastically will make you scared crapless. I promise tho it IS the right choice. If you are like a lot of people on here, including me, who has struggled for years with little to no luck them its time to do something that makes you adjust. My mind and body are so much healthier and happy now. A few minutes if jitters will pass while the results last -
Woke up this morning and weighed in at 199. Never thought id be so happy to say im almost 200, but not quite! Hahah

What foods can you simply not have anymore?
KayCTheNewMe replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Beef is my no go now. And so are dairy products like cottage cheese and yogurt (heavy dairy?) I can only have 1 cup of milk a day if im lucky. Oh, eggs are a no go too. Sucks that all of them are so high in protien lol -
Enabling addictions
KayCTheNewMe replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me pre op was fairly easy because my doctor didnt believe in me living on protien shakes and starving myself. He and the nutritionist gave me a guideline for a diet to reduce my calorie intake, which I followed, but they both said to listen to your body. If its saying you meed more at that moment, eat a little more but be smart. Our bodies arent used to that few calories so to try to force it that low for a long period of time not only makes your body feel bad, but your mind. I was incredibly addicted to food. But by not starving myself of everything I craved (but still making right choices) I mentally and physically was better off pre op. And I think the same applies post op. For me personally I had a hell of a time physically with the full liquid so I ate what my body said I could, but stayed at pureed. Once I was able to get where I could eat soft food thats when cravings kicked in...mostly salt. I did indulge slightly. If I wanted salt I ate some prociutto, or a cracker or 1 chip. Literally having the taste of it satisfied me. If I fwlt like it was too good and wanted more I didnt do it again. Pretty much my point is I dont believe in full on depravation of the things you love but I do believe in moderation and making overall better choices. If I have 1 bad snack or meal, I make sure the rest of my day is full of the best things I can eat and still stay within my calories. I know I have a food addiction , and I think if you can control yourself its ok to eat the things you love as long as you only do it once in a while and know you can control yourself. Post op I feel mentally and physically so much better than I ever have, both parts regarding how I feel and think about food, and I am happy with all the choices I have made. -

light headedness after 5 months?
KayCTheNewMe posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
These past two days I have been incredibly ligh headed every time I stand up, bend down, or turn around fast and my ears have been ringing and feeling "stuffy" I have been trying to get a hold of my doctor cuz I just upped my zoloft (per his request) but I cant tell if its a med thing or if this is a post op thing. I had these same symptoms at some point post op when i wasnt on meds, but for the life of me and I can't remember what the issue was . Im good with vitamins, protien and fluids and havent been congested ie anything. nothing is taking this away. Checked my sugars and bp when its at its worst and all perfect. Anyone else experience this?? -
started working out again and the scale and I dont agree
KayCTheNewMe posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im going crazy witg my scale lately. I got to 201...so close to onederland! My surgeon wants to see me under 200 before the 21st but because of starting the gym again (had to break for gallbladder surgery recovery) the scale moved back to 202/203 and is just hanging out again. What kind of work outs help with fat burning post sleeve? -
I want a cookie!
KayCTheNewMe replied to 140icandoit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Personally I couldnt handle bread like that during the soft stage without it making me full after a few nibbles and sometimes it would hurt because I could feel it expand in my stomach. But technically can u eat it? Yeah. I didnt follow the diet completely because I couldn't stomach a full liquid diet so I ate pureed food early, even ate some crackers a week out after turning them into mush lol just listen to ur body -

And I've reached every goal ive wanted to, whether it was the drs goal or mine. Im morr afraid of another stall right now, especially because I just started working out again.i do moatly muscle training so I may just cut back on that a little for now and add more cardio -
Gallbladder issues after sleeve or gastric bypass
KayCTheNewMe replied to slim46's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It can happen all the time or intermittenly. Mine could go 4 weeks without me having any pain then hit out of nowhere. It certainly couldn't hurt ti request an ultrasound. Thats really the only way to accurately check. They did 2 cat scans and nithing came up either time
