  1. It can happen all the time or intermittenly. Mine could go 4 weeks without me having any pain then hit out of nowhere. It certainly couldn't hurt ti request an ultrasound. Thats really the only way to accurately check. They did 2 cat scans and nithing came up either time
  2. My attacks were far worse than labor. It felt tlike I couldnt breathe, I vomitted 3 different times, and got the sweats. I couldnt stand, sit, or bend. There was no relief. Its felt on the right side of my chest under my breast and my back. Its a sharp stabbing pain. They lasted from a few minites to hours before getting help. Nothing eould relieve it but lots of pain meds and timd
  3. That was my only problem post op. Stupid army docs refused to do an ultrasound (budget cuts) even tho it was such a common post op problem; so after 6 er visits in 3 months I went to another hospital and they found gallstones right away. After 3 months of 10 gallstone attacks i had to deal with the pain 2 more weeks before getting it removed. Once they removed it they saw a gallstone twice as large as the duct going down the gallbladder pop out. Once I had it taken out tho I instantly felt better (minus surgery recocery lol) Absolutely reccomend getting it taken out. Its only going to cause problems, not help
  4. My doc was very strict about 6 werks, and then ti go easy for a while with it
  5. Def a no go on pizza or fries. We went to a movie and got fries and it was one if thr worst pains (pretty close to dumping syndrome feelings).I agree with the food choices listed above. Where does ur doc have u at 4 weeks post op for ur diet? Mune had me at puree stage, so even taking some pureed baby food is something that would work. Cream of wheat also works good
  6. When I go home I will be 6 months post op and I used to do bikram yoga ( heat yoga ). Has anyone done this post op? I had a problem pre op with it hecause of asthma, which wont go away but I can manage it. Im more worried about dehydration or being physically too intense.

    Weight gain after surgery

I also gained weight for a few days after surgery but after the 1st week it poured off. Just trust it worked and stay hydrated!
  8. A friend is doing a blood drive and I have no idea if I can even donate beinf sleeved. Has anyone done so?
  9. KayCTheNewMe

    blood donations?

Im 5 months out and drink more than my 10 cups a day typically. I had a hard time prior to surgery held light headed when I donated blood but if I waited long enough it got a bit better. I have an appointment with my surgeon next month so I will ask him when I see him!

    Post -Op time off work?

I took two weeks. I sit almost all day and even going back for 2 hours a little early killed and made me drop dead tired. Juat listen to your body and see what happens!

    Hair loss?

Wanting to follow as well. My hair has thinned out so bad I dont even wear it down anymore
  12. Had to go through everything to find pictures of me before post op since I hated taking body pictures, but this is the closest I found. This is Halloween before surgery (6 months pre op) and today, 1 day shy of my 5 month surgiversery. Wore a shirt I couldn't fit in for years so I am a happy camper

    Ugh!

It took a few months for me to be able to handle them but at around 3 1/2 I could use sweetners but not real sugar, and can eat any veggies
  14. Haha I just woke up maybe 30 mins prior. Didnt even brush my hair yet lol I'll get to it

    21/2 weeks out and vomiting

Vomiting so soon after surgery is dangerous. You can tear something so much easier. Def call ur doc
  16. KayCTheNewMe

    BM issues

Id be a little careful with smooty tea if it has senna in it (thats tge ingredient that makes you gi). Unfortunately it can be a bit uncomfortable, even with a whole stomach. Thats what I used before surgery and had to stop because it caused the worst abdominal cramps
  17. Thanks and pics are taken more now but I try to do it every 20lbs or so so I can see a difference. I still see all the flaws in pics for some reason but just seeing myself in the mirror makes me happier
  18. I am the same way. Ive lost 60lbs and just moved into the next size down. I had to wear a belt for everything but my security for pants is always stretch jeans. Im a 16 now but in regular jeans my thighs and butt have a a hard time fitting right (thank you child bearing hips). Stretch is your friend try some on and see what happens! Maybe they will make you feel better about what you wear. even when I reach goal a 14 will be pushing it so I know the number may not agree with what you think it should be but its how you rock what you have

    Coffee after being sleeved

My doctor told me a minimum of 3 months. I may be saying this wrong but from what I got of it he said the coffee pulls the blood away from your stimach and you need kore blood there while healing. I couldnt handle it anyways until a little after 4, and I am 5 months out now and its still rough

    Bowel movment

Miralax is a good one. Its pretty gradual

    Miserable

I never could do protien either, in food or milk. I had to get it by meat. My surgeon said to not worry about the protien so much until I get the fluids in because the hydration is more important initially. And I had the bariatric advantage vitamins and became very close to vomiting each time to take it so I didnt take any for a while. (not advised lol) but once I could take them again I started on centrum multivitamin and calcium gummies. Much easier

    Bowel movment

If you are only a few days to a few weeks out dont worry about it too much. Youre body just went thru a major calorie reduction and physical change. Its normal to go a while without one. Once youre on a more regular food basis your body will regulate and going every day to 3 days will be normal depending on what you eat. Im 5 months out anf I make sure to eat a fruit and veggies every day to try to go every day, but I still sometimes cant for 3 days or so, especially if ive had a lot of carbs
  23. So before surgery I had high cholesterol (254), high triglycerides (370+), high blood pressure and heart rate (average 150/100 with hr over 105) and was concidered pre diabetic. As of today being almost 5 months post op and down almost 60lbs I have great bp and hr (120/80 with hr of 75 to 85; ive been off meds since month 1), normal triglycerides (low 200)and normal sugars. Unfortunately my cholesterol is exactly the same but that is a cruddy thing about genetics. Ive dropped 2 pants sizes and fit into all my old clothes that I put away a year ago when I couldnt fit in them anymore. It feels great. My doc wants me to drop 8 more lbs by my 6 month check up oct 21st, which is doable, but I cant do the gym for another 10 days because of having my gallbladder out only 2 weeks ago. Before I ramble on forever I just wantto say im happy

    no drinking BEFORE meals?

That is my rule as well, but im further out now and I can (at least physically. Not sure if im supposed to tho) still cant do after. It makes me want to vomit, which sucks becaue I always need a sip or 2 afrer a meal lol
