June sleevers?
shays4265 replied to Healthier2day1227's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have a June 6th date and I am super excited. I have already started preparing by eating a shake for breakfast and a healthy lunch and dinner. I haven't lost any weight since I went to my surgeon on May 1st but I haven't gained anything either. I will start the real pre-op diet on May 21st after eating a really huge meal the night before. I will then start weighing my food and keeping up with exactly what I put in my mouth. I will be on shakes only the week before and I am not thrilled but I hope I will lose 10 to 20 lbs before surgery. My highest weight was 283 when I started this journey and I am at 268. I can't wait till June 6. -

How in the world do you train yourself to eat slower and take smaller bites? I have 9 days till I start my pre-op diet and I have really been trying to do better by eating healthier and slower, but that is really hard. Please, any ideas or tips?

I got my date! June 12!
shays4265 replied to Karmen081020's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My preop diet is 2 weeks before surgery I have to replace Breakfast with a Protein shake lunch and supper will be 4 oz lean meat and a cup of cooked veggies or 2 cups raw. That is for a week then for 5 days it is 4 shakes a day then 2 days it is Clear liquids only then the night before is nothing. My preop preop diet is a shake for lunch and a reasonably healthy breakfast and dinner. Just to keep me from getting sick or a bad headache if I went cold turkey. -
Of course brothers also. I just do not know any for June 6 yet!

I am scared about the pain because I am a wimp bi will not be backing out. No way I would do that after all I have done to make this happen. I just don't want to hurt so bad after and I don't want to be nauseous when I wake up I have done that after every time I have been put to sleep. I am going to tell them at the hospital that I do that so maybe they can make sure I don't this time. The pain is all I am scared about.

I got the surgery date the day I went to my surgeon. I had picked a date and hoped he could do it that day. He could. They gave me the menu for my 2 week pre-op also. I have not been sleeved yet. I go June 6 by choice.
-
Sleeve sisters. I finally have at least 1. June 6 whoo hoo. Is anyone starting to cut down like for the pre-op?
-
I have a ticker for the day I start the two week pre-op, a ticker for the one week pre-op, a ticker for the 2 day pre-op, and finally a ticker for surgery. Which ticker do you have on your phone cause mine is boring?

On my meeting with the surgeon, he just talked to me about the procedure and the things I have to do to make this work. He reminded me this is a tool to lose weight and what I do with it is up to me. They had me sign a promise to do certain things like a pledge to drink 64 ounces of water and exercise at least 30 minutes 4 to 5 times a week and a bunch of other stuff. They gave me my pre-op diet and then asked me when I wanted to have the surgery so they could check their schedule. Then I was given my surgery info and when to go get blood work done. It was a great appt and I am so excited.

June 6 for me and I am so excited.

You are the first I have heard the June surgery date. Mine is June 6. I can't wait. I have already started my own pre-op pre-op diet so my body doesn't go into shock. -
I can talk to you, I may not have all the answers but I have a mentor that helps me and she has lost over 100 lbs in a year. I have a date set for surgery on June 6. I can wait. What is going on with you?
