ChaoticBliss replied to kailie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations! You look amazing. I am July 10 2013. Down 58lbs and 12 lbs from goal. I am glad you have had a good year, it only gets better from here! -
Approaching my 4-year surgiversary
ChaoticBliss replied to BlackBerryJuice's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thank you for giving us a snapshot view of the long term for you. Congratulations on your continued success and you are such an inspiration! -
I personally am the queen of yo yo weight gain/loss. Although it is more weight than I have lost in the past, it is not unusual for me to lose and then balloon. I have kept a weight log since 2004 and I have quantifiably yoyo'ed 30 or more lbs every 18 to 24 months for the last 10 years. They just might question when I don't gain this time. ????.

In addition to the judgements on the surgery itself, there was the fact that we were self pay. Now it became a matter of, how did we pay for it and was it a good use of money. Just so many facets of judgement. I've had mobile homes repo'ed for what this cost but it has increased my longevity and health, but they would have something to say. Just another thing to judge ... No thanks. Very happy with our decision.

Only my husband knows. Our families would all have opinions that were not relevant to my decisions. We have five children that we didn't want them to worry. It's the best decision of my life and yet no one knows about it. I speak with my husband regarding trials and tribulations, and use these support forums. It works for us.

How many cabs/protein/fats ?
ChaoticBliss replied to meatball1's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I try for 40-30-30. That's just my goal, I usually average my 30% protein and the other two vary by day. The closer I keep it there and in my calorie range, the better I lose weight. -
Don't get discouraged. Keep following the plan. Our bodies are fickle things sometimes. My surgeon told me to expect times like these because the exact timing of the weight loss cannot be expected. And all the weight loss stories on the forums can be disheartening with big numbers in short periods of time, I completely know. I have to remind myself that we are all different, and that this is not a race, but a marathon, for life. Literally for a better life, healthy and long. Good luck, and keep on keepin' on. You got this!

I really like Jay Robb protein powders as they mixed very easily with a shaker. I tried several others that were not all bad, but I hate Lumps with a passion and am lazy and don't like to clean the blender. So yeah, that one worked for me. Can get it most places, but in my town I could get it at GNC and Kroger.

July sleevers please check in..
ChaoticBliss replied to shannyd4's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Amazing job to everyone posting. Some lose less some more and all on different schedules. I keep reminding myself that this is a marathon, not a race. I have not posted any pictures, but I wanted to for my 1 year anniversary. I feel amazing, my children are so proud of me. This has been the single best thing I have done for myself and am so grateful to have had the ability and availability to such a life changing procedure. Oh and as a special treat, I turned 40 in May and have never felt better. Surgery date July 10, 2013 HW 215 SW 215 CW 157 Goal 145 (still to come) Can't wait to hear about other's first year!!! -

Hey guys, we aren't far from our first year check ins. The thread is kind of quiet but I bet it picks up next month. Can't wait to see how every one is doing one year out. ???? -

Between his two and my three children (4 to 9 at the time) and owning our own business, our new family was chaotic and blissful at the same time. Now that they are 12 to 17 and our business has continued to grow, it has never been more true.

Sleeping On Your Side Again?!
ChaoticBliss replied to a_gray_'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually bought a special knee pillow to help with sleeping on my back, but I was able to sleep on my side in the hospital. I never even used it! -
Lol... That made me laugh out loud so much, my kids were like..."mom? What the heck? Are you ok?"

Sooo inspiring and absolutely incredible! An amazing accomplishment! -
So I have a history of hair loss with weight loss, this is nothing new. I am kind of glad because at least I have already had all those terrified search queries, tried all the shampoos, joined the hair loss forums.... So really I feel pretty prepared for this, but still, it sucks. This is 3 showers worth and doesn't count everything at my bathroom sink, in my brush, on my sweater, in dinner.... ????

Thanks for the perspective! You are so right. It can always be worse.

Two months would be awesome! Here's hoping.
