    Pregnancy Glucose Test?

Haven't gotten to that point yet, but I'm not looking forward to it. Had a hard enough time doing it before being sleeved...can't imagine how aweful it will be this time around.

    Ignore user?

I seriously just read through 12 pages of posts to figure out who we're supposed to be hating on...and I got nuthin. I KNOW it's not me...but it's nice to know who I'm laughing at. <sigh> I'll just keep watching and waiting.

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?

And I just hit 30lbs this morning.

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?

I was sleeved on 4/29. Not May, but close. I hit a stall for a few weeks and thought all that I had just done was for nothing. Who gets 85% of their stomach cut out and still can't lose weight? But I joined the Y, started working out on the elliptical. I started only being able to do 15 minutes at a time and slowly started adding 5 and 10 minutes. I went for an hour for the first time this past Sunday. But the 2nd day on that machine I broke that plateau. Broke it good. Now I can see a direct correlation to the harder I work my body, the better the scale moves. So keep eating the right things. If walking isn't working, try riding a bike. Switch things up a little bit. You'll get there. After all, nobody goes to get 85% of their stomach cut out and their body won't drop the weight.

what to eat before working out?

Try a tuna sandwich. I eat one as I'm walking out the door to work out and feel great during and after.
  6. I've told people here at my job that I was getting a hernia fixed. It's not completely lying...they fixed my hernia while they were in there.

    6 weeks post-op and possibly pregnant...eek!

Not so much "unwanted" where either of those sound appealing. This just isn't a good time, and I know that waiting longer after surgery would have been better. "Unwanted" in the sense that other women try for years and get elated when they find out...I'm not elated. I tend to lose weight anyhow when I'm pregnant, and I am terrified of gaining now.

    anyone suffer from fibromyalgia?

I didn't have fibro, but the doctors called it chronic pain syndrome (or something like that). Within a week, I had stopped taking the Cymbalta they gave me (cause it was making me sick) and not too long after that, somebody grabbed me by my arm and I didn't start whining cause i hurt so bad. I'm finding that the more weight I lose, and the more I work out the less pain I feel and just generally feeling better all around. My best guess would be, yes. The surgery helped.

    preop alcohol

Don't risk it...it isn't worth it. Save the drink for your goal weight.
  10. I saw somebody say Krispy Kreme and now I'm dreaming of donuts. I used to be able to eat a dozen...now I'm betting I can eat half of one cause its been so long. Doesn't have anything to do with people asking for absolution...but my name is Jacquelynn and I'm an addict. It's been 2 years since my last Krispy Kreme. *sits back down*

    Weak

Definitely sounds like you're dehydrated. And next time, have water instead of coffee. Caffeine will dehydrate you faster.
  12. Since we're talking about chewing and spitting out...did y'all see the thread talking about not spitting? Maybe the OP could look into that...liquid, protein, not Cheerios. ????
  13. Soggy cheerios may or may not hurt. Truthfully, it may kill you. Just like some of the others have already said, there's a reason why the doctors have you on liquids a little while after surgery. If any of those staples rupture, it could cause some damage, and maybe death if you don't go to the doctor soon enough. That means another surgery. This part of the "diet" is so short lived compared to everything else we will be doing the rest of our lives. I know that when I thought I was hungry post op, I started drinking warm soup. I was able to feel full and stayed in compliance. I wouldn't want to risk my life and health over a few cheerios...I haven't gotten skinny yet.

    Drank my shake too fast

The best thing is to just start walking. I've done that before and just started walking laps around my living room and was eventually able to burp. It's miserable though.

    arc vs eliptical

I just worked myself up to 30 minutes on the elliptical with no breaks. Once I can do 45 with no breaks, I'm going to start on the Arc. Then I figure once I can work these machines, my behind better start shrinking.
  16. I'm using mine now to motivate me. I don't get too caught up with the numbers daily, just like checking in. I figure after this $40,000 experience relapse is not an option.
  17. LMFAO!!! I have a digital scales that connects to my phone via wifi and connects to MFP. But I have a problem with weighing myself several times a day. Then I'll go to the bathroom and weigh myself again. It's obsessive...but I can't help it.
  18. You poor dear...but I didn't have gauze, my doctor used some sort of glue to close mine.

4th day of pre op and in pain

Me personally...I had pain for the first week and a half. Mostly in my big incision, but it was intense. And by in pain, I mean doubled over and sitting very still in the recliner so that nothing moved kind of pain. Then one day, I went to get up to use the bathroom and the pain was gone...almost like it was never there to begin with. With that said, my doctor encouraged me to use the pain meds. There is no sense in suffering after major surgery. If you run out (I ran out of pain meds within a few days) ask for more. While my doctor didn't give me more oxy's (which were amazing by the way) they gave me Vicodin which is like stronger tylenol. I took those for about two days and didn't need them anymore. But talk to your doctor, they can help!
  20. When I hit my first stall, I started working out like crazy. Since then, whenever the scale doesn't move, I work out harder. I'll increase the resistance on the elliptical or add another 10 minutes or so. Also logging everything that you eat works too. It helps to keep you accountable for what you're eating.

How much exercise is too much?

I think they're worried about something like Exercise Anorexia...here's the wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypergymnasia Seems crazy...seeing as where we're coming from, but not unreasonable...
  22. I had stalled for a while and then I starting exercising. I find that the harder and longer I work out, the better the scale moves. Start walking or riding a bike...it'll start moving.

    asking a crazy?

They're not pleasant, but try an enema. They don't require drinking and they work FAST.

    arc vs eliptical

I've tried the arc machine a couple of times. I can only get about 5 minutes in before I want to lay myself out on the floor.
