Tell your husband to shut his trap

Did anyone make the drive down to San Diego? My mom is coming with me and she is terrified to fly! We live probably about 6-7 hours away and would make the drive down the day before then stay in San Diego and meet the driver at the airport the next day. Did anyone else drive?

Hmm mildly inappropriate...but your boobs look great in that second top! Just sayin! -
Did you guys take cash with you into Mexico? Or use plastic? I have heart people talking about shopping at like Walmart and stuff...just curious... This is of course besides the cashiers check for surgery.

Dr. Ariel Ortiz NOT in Newsweek Magazine
thetattooedlady replied to cerenatee's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I'm actually glad you posted this. I've already decided on another surgeon but I did look into him when I first started deciding to go into the Mexico route and I was impressed by the Newsweek thing...I honestly assumed it was the magazine. So I'm sure a lot of other people assume the same thing...good looking out! -
Good to know!!!

My aunt agreed to loan/gift me the money for my surgery! Now it's all about filling out the paper work and making the plans! I've been waiting four years for this surgery and all of a sudden it's here...I don't really know how to feel lol so I keep bursting into tears at random inopportune times! Lol My only fear is that I'll have it done and I won't even lose any weight....

My aunt is pretty kick ass. I'm only 23 years old and I've been overweight my entire life. She sees me struggling to lose weight...I've been on a constant diet for the last year...and she wants to help me. She is supportive of whatever decision I end up making. I'm kind of leaning towards Dr. Alejandro Lopez-Ortega...and using alighterme as the coordinators....I've researched all over and I keep coming back to them...so hopefully it's good! -
I am covered in tattoos and they have no effect in a good medical professionals ability to place an Iv. I always tell them, if my tattoos are an issue than bring me someone else that knows what they are doing.
-
I was just wondering what to expect like.. I am leaning mostly towards working with alighterme and dr Lopez. Anyone who as worked with them, what is the process like from when you first contact them? Is it all on the phone? Skype? Email? What kind of timeline is it? Do they reply quickly? Is there an approval process like with insurance? How long was it from the time you first made contact to when you actually had your date scheduled? The reason I ask is because I want to get my surgery done before my 24th birthday on October 31st. Would that even be possible?

Did you discuss your surgery?
thetattooedlady posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hey guys I'm in the early stages of planning my surgery...I am finding that the more concrete the plans get, the less I want to talk about it. I feel like there is such a stigma attached in going to Mexico for surgery and I really don't want to hear other people's negativity. That being said, did you tell your employer? What about your family and friends? I kind of want to just go have it done and not tell anyone...like star jones. -

"My so called best friend last week commented on our old coworkers weight loss and said "idk why the eff she keeps posting pictures of her in the gym when she knows dam well she had surgery and she is not losing that weight on her own. She needs to stop taking pics of her at the gym." Wtf! Why do women treat eachother so badly?! She should be proud of her for going to the gym and kicking ass! Not talking about her behind her back! -

Whats the hardest part for you?!

As weird as this may be...my biggest fear is that the weight loss will destroy my tattoos. I've invested a lot of time and money in my tattoos and for a long time now they are one of the only pretty things about me and I'm afraid they will be ruined.
