Hi all - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 2014 looks to be amazing. I was following this forum for a while and then had some major set backs - I was unsuccessful in accessing my super twice. I have private health insurance, but needed the extra money to fund my operation. Thank heavens for wonderful family who came to the rescue and on 17 September 2013 I had my gastric sleeve operation in Brisbane. I've lost 26kgs, my health has improved and the arthritis pain in one of my knees is so much less as my weight continues to go down. Is there anyone around the Springfield Lakes area or close by in Queensland who has had the gastric sleeve and would like to catch up? Please let me know - we have some lovely cafes in the area. Congratulations Helen on your early release of super. I'm in private cover, but will still be out of pocket by about $6000 all up initially. I put in for early release of super just over 2 weeks ago, please let me know how long it took you for approval. cheers, Raylee

Hi Aussie Kelloff I saw Dr Rob Finch last week, have private insurance and will be applying for my super to pay for the gap. Probably like many of you, I know and have been on many interesting diets over the years. I'm looking at going in for my sleeve op in mid-June at Holy Spirit Chermside and taking two weeks off after it to rest and get used to my new lifestyle. I would love to catch up with you before I got in to see how you are going and for any advice. I'm actually very excited about the whole process and what changes will happen in the future. Cheers, GC
