    100 mile challenge

I want to thank you for starting this challenge. It has been a major thing for me. I have exercised more in the last month than I have in the last 20 years. Seeing both my numbers and everyone else's numbers has been extremely motivating every day. I will make sure that the October challenge is started and hopefully we can gain a few more, as you put it, fitness freaks. This group has become a little family for me and love seeing everyone's progress. Thank you my friend. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers Monday morning, I will be at the hospital myself Monday morning waiting patiently as my beautiful wife goes in for her surgery to be sleeved. It will be a great and fun journey for us to do together.
  6. It is a waiting game. Mine has been going on for 2 weeks but is slowly starting to ease up. I have dropped 3 lbs this week, 3 more than the previous 2 weeks combined of 0lbs. I would say you definately need to drink more Protein and lots of water! I still drink 2 to 3 shakes a day for my Snacks or sometimes as Breakfast. And a minimum of 64oz of Water but prefer more when I can. It will happen, just keep exerciseing as well. You may not see lbs fall off the scale but you should start seeing inches fall. Even during my stall, I have gone down 2 pant sizes in my waste. Hang in there and keep us updated.

    100 mile challenge

I walked 5.70 miles today including a great 39 minute 2.06 mile walk around the neighborhood. That is a 19.02 minute average which for some may be slow, but for me, I am very happy with it. That puts my total this month at 117.2! I still can't believe I have done this.

    100 mile challenge

Howdy folks! I hope everyone had as great a day as I did! I only did walking today but I did include some short running in my laps at work today on my lunch break. I have also gotten in the habit of taking the longest route possible when going from my office to where ever I need to go in the building. I walked 4.17 miles today which puts me at 108.9 miles total. I started doing some light weights last night for the first time since surgery. A lot of the weight I have lost seems to be in my arms and shoulders. Time to get to work on that problem. I even stopped after work and picked up some kettle bell weights today. I started with a set of 10 lbs and will work my way up from there over time. Once again, another element of fitness I would not have imagined a few months ago. Thanks everyone for the encouragement everyday and I hope I can do the same for you all!

    Fitbit

Yes, I also use MFP and I also have an app on my phone...Map My Walk. It is what I use to track my daily totals. You can add each work out, run, walk, bike whatever you do. Check it out. www.mapmywalk.com

    Stall for TWO weeks?

I also have stalled out for about 2 weeks. I increased my exercise as well as my protein and water and slowly, I have been loosing again. I was holding some fluid as well which caused me to gain a couple pounds but have since lost that and I am now down 2 lbs more than my lowest weight. Day of surgery was 335...3 weeks out 307...stalled and went up to 310...slowly been loosing again and was 305 this morning. That being said, like Indigo said, you will still be loosing inches. Even during my stall, I have dropped 2 pant sizes. So even though you don't see it on the scale, keep the exercise water and protein going because they are making a difference.

    Fitbit

I have been wearing the Fitbit Flex for the last 2 weeks and love it. Very easy to use and seems to be very accurate. I looked at several...Jawbone, Nike + and a few others but preferred the Flex. I definitely recommend it.

    100 mile challenge

Hey Butter, I will take care of starting the Oct challenge. We definitely need to keep this going. I agree, it won't be the same without you but we know you will be peaking in for encouragement. I will have to postpone starting the Couch 2 5K as planned. I had planned to start next Monday but on a great news note, my wife will be getting sleeved that morning. We are both excited. I guess I will do my walking laps around the hospital while she is in surgery. Now...time for a walk.

    100 mile challenge

I did a lot of walking today...3.14 miles. I just finished riding the recumbent bike 4.45 miles which put me at 7.59 miles today and a total of....101 miles!! I can't believe I did it and with days to spare!!! My wife took a pic right after I broke 100 miles...lol! I just need to figure out how to post it. Come on everyone...we are in the home stretch!! If I can do it, you can do it. Before my surgery last month, if you told me I would do this I would have laughed at you. Now, exactly 5 weeks to the day post op, I have finished the 100 mile challenge and don't plan on stopping!! Thanks for the motivation everyone!
