Were you intubated during surgery
whosyadaddy replied to jennypoo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Im pretty sure that everyone gets it. You dont always remember it because they put it down there when you out and take it out before you wake up. They have to wake you a little to get it out to make sure you are going to wake up before they pull it out but your in such a 'twilight' you wont always remember. When you go 'under' you are so far under that you wont breathe on your own so they have a machine breathe for you. I dont see how you can not have one becuase you wont breathe in surgery if you dont (not really a good thing) Worst case is on really really big people (Like over 600) they have to do it before your out because if they put you out first your throat will collapse under the weight and they cant get the tube in. I saw that on big Medicine and it is a nightmare. As soon as its in you will be out in like 10 seconds. I think if there was an option not to do it they wouldnt do it all the really big people. -

Ok, i have been keeping my swimming up. 50 laps a day at the Y. Even on Sats. One thing ive noticed. Some swimmers seem to think its ok to spit in the pool. YUCK! I know its all chlorinated at everything so i let it go. Then this morning, the guard was obvisouly not feeling too good, coughing a little, and to my horror she comes over and spits in the pool too. TWICE :speechles. Right in someones lane! :omg: I pay like $500 a year for a Family membership and i think its going up to 700 next year. Anyone think this is ok? I though about calling and complaining to her supervisor but i think i will just ask her NOT to do that instead. She was all her cell phone this morning too for about 10mins.

I would say wait at least 1 week for banding. When i went to my 1 week checkup doc said as long as i feel ok then go ahead and exercise. Every doc is different. No stomach exercises for a while though. And i am waiting a few weeks before i lift some weights again. Bottom line......ask your Doctor.

Ok im joining. I love to ride. My fav kind of bike is naked sports bikes, FZ1 , Honda 919, Suzuki Bandits etc... I felt like i was to fat to get one of these so after my learner GZ250 i bought a Boulevard (Suzuki) M50. Its about as close to a sports bike as a cruiser gets. I havnt got 1000 miles on it yet so im still breaking it in. As i lose weight im feeling better and better on it. One day ill trade it in. I really like Triumphs (prolly cas im British livin in the USA) . I love there new Speed Triple thats coming out. Glad to be here. O and the R6 is SWEET!

yeah i asked my doc about swimming and he was ok with it. he said as long as my incisions arent scabby i would be fine. Every doc is different i guess. But i definately wont try and do any stomach exercises for a few months.
