Wow, wow, and WOW!!!! -
I'm on my third day post op. The pain from the incision areas are not bad, my stomach just feels sore, my suffering is coming from my back and my severe headaches--not the surgery itself. It's probably the gas pain and meds still in my system. Trying to walk it off.

I just got sleeved on Tuesday (June 18th) and I am having major gas pain as well, especially to my back. Heating pads have worked GREAT for my back and pushing that gas forward (gas is less painful in tummy area--for me). I've been getting up every hour, on the hour to walk. Hopefully this gas will start to make its exit. I'm also having a hard time getting liquids in as well

Surgery tomorrow June 18!
NewSetOfCurves replied to takingbackcontrol's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm right there with you. I got sleeved on the 18th with hiatal hernia repair. A lot of pain meds as well. I'm already home however. Having difficulty getting liquids in and major gas pain in my back. Heating pads to my back have become my miracle worker and pain relief for my back and gas pain. Hope we're both feeling better soon. -
Getting air out after bring freshly sleeved?

Hi everyone. I just got sleeved about 39 hours ago. The pain from incision sights are tolerable, but the gas pain, especially in my back, is excruciating! Please help! Any suggestions other than walking (because I have been doing a lot of walking and it hasn't alleviated the pain or helped in its release)? Your advise would be GREATLY appreciated!!! -

Update: during my non-walking time I used a heating pad on my back area...MAJOR relief!!! Pushed the gases forward, but the pain created in my tummy is incomparable (completely not as severe) to the pain in my back. Again, thank you all for the suggestions. -

What's done is done. Don't dwell. Move forward. You're not bad, you're human. We're suckers for temptation, but--despite our "suckerness"--it's because of our humanity that we are able to learn, correct, and evolve. -

Muscle Milk Lite (it's chocolate flavored) is really good...in fact, I don't like chocolate flavored drinks, but I'll drink that one. -

I'm right there with the rest if you gals! I'm almost 5' 7" and I get the shocked faces too when I reveal my weight, followed by, "Well, you carry your weight well." I started at 40 bmi, down to 36, but obese is obese. It causes health problems and so much more. And your right, if we could have done it with diet and exercise, we wouldn't be here paying $1000's of dollars or taking risks! -
I have an aunt that was just sleeved last week. She will see her doctor Thursday, but she has been suffering from horrible headaches since the surgery. She says that her head is even sensitive to touch. Anyone else experience this?

3 weeks out eating about 1200 cal/day
NewSetOfCurves replied to mamamareli's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You don't stretch your sleeve by the number of calories you consume, you stretch your sleeve with the QUANTITY of food you consume. I have always been confused by the low cal requirements given for most, other than understanding that you cannot consume an abundance of food because of the size of your new stomach. But I always thought why not consume higher calorie foods that are good nutritional calories, low in quantity, and have the ability NOT to force your body into starvation mode, as well as NOT cause those things people experience, like: hair loss, fatigue, dizziness, and out of whack metabolism. I see my Nut next week and I'm definitely having this conversation.
