    BIG FAT PEOPLE!

I missed this thread! I am right on the same page with saffikeagan. I hate to cook and do dishes! Fastfood is SO much easier!!! I can go all day without eating--before the sleeve I wouldn't even think about food--but as soon as evening would hit, I would go for fast and easy. Especially after getting up at 4:30 AM to get my self dressed, my 2 year old, 4 year old, 8 and 10 year old. Then off to drop them off at school, get myself to school (teacher), practice after school (I sponsor the dance team), pick up kiddos from day care...by now it is 7:00/7:30 p.m... so... to cook or not to cook before bathing kids, ironing, homwork, and any in betweens that include taking care of myself (if I get a chance)? Uhhh...NOT TO COOK! I think my weight had to do with tons of stress and lots of bad foods at bad times. Now that I am post sleeve I have never experienced the mourning of food or a sense of loss. I really believe that I was NOT addicted to food or an emotional eater (I hide in a nice dark room when I am upset), just a bad eater (like munching on chips--my trigger food--in front of the television on weekends). This summer I really worked on preparing meals, eliminating the bad carbs (sodas, juices, finger foods--CHIPS ESPECIALLY) from my cabinets. School is starting up and I have arranged for help (a cleaning lady--YAY!) during the week so that I do not revert to my old ways of fast food, and so that I don't stress about mess when I am too tired to clean it all up or find an excuse not to cook. I'm not only making this life change for myself, but for my heathens as well.

    Can't Lose Anymore Weight! :'(

I was sleeved two days before. I hit a two week stall in week 3 and 4. Guess what? The scale started moving again! Yours will move too! We are not the first and we are not the last to hit stalls, and we will definitely see some more. You are NOT a failure! You won the moment you decided to change your life for the better! We are bound to struggle, wobble, and fall sometimes, but we get back up and try again. There is no way you cannot lose weight with the amount of restriction we have. You CAN do this...you WILL do this!!!!!

Weight Lifting Session Kicked My A$$!

Thanks Fiddle, I really appreciate that
  12. I finally got approved and transitioned from toning sessions to heavy lifting. I'm starting out "slow" (by slow I mean lifting twice a week, kind of like a "weekend warrior" kind of thing) due to my schedule and four heathens (I say that with love), ranging in age from 2 to 10. Today's session was full body, I worked my biceps, triceps, lats, quads, hams, calves, pecs, as well as the posterior, medial, and anterior deltoids. Each exercise consisted of three sets, 90 sec rests when I transitioned to the next exercise, and 30 sec rests between each set; 8-10 lifts until failure. If i failed before the 8-10, I switched to a lower weight and pushed until failure. OH MY GOSH, TALK ABOUT HAVING MY A KICKED! I HAVEN'T HAD THIS FEELING IN FOREVER, AND I LOVE IT...probably will NOT be loving it tomorrow when I am sore and can barely walk! #feelingSUPERpumped!

6 week post op pic...LOVING my SLEEVE!

The first 2/3 weeks were tough, week 1 being the toughest. By the end of week 3 I felt like myself again, but I had to really work it to get those calories in. Gatorade helped a lot. I've already weaned myself off, but when calories were hard to get in, it really helped with dizziness and the world going a little black at times. I've been eating every 2-3 hours. I have the same problem with the shakes (but hey, all I can say is that at least I am regular now--LOL!), I just make sure to drink them when I am at home. However, I find myself napping and extremely tired by the end of the day, especially on my early A.M. workout days (I'm up to 4 miles--yay me!). On my non workout days I get in about 700 calories, and workout days I get in about 900 calories. My doctor released me this week to full diet, but so many things are hard to get in. I have found some sliders though, like cantaloupe and (believe it or not) beef Jerky. I know its high in sodium, but they kept me awake on my 11 hour drive to LA. I wish you continued success and I hope you get your energy back sooner than later! Good luck to you!

6 week post op pic...LOVING my SLEEVE!

I am excited for you! I am not going to lie, for me, week 1 was...well...I refer to it as my hell week. Not because of the surgery site itself, but because of the gas discomfort. Heating pads were my savior, though! And, due to the swelling in my stomach, I struggled getting fluids down that first week. So, I was really weak. Popsicles (nice, cold sugar free popsicles) saved me. Ice in general went down real good. I did much better week 2, and by the end of week 3 I was 100%. Everyone really is different though. The time will pass before you know it and you'll be loving your sleeve! Good Luck!
