    Pushups versus pullups strength

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/ridgely9.htm This page not only talks about the muscles used (primary and secondary), but goes into detail as well about the movement. If you're having a hard time, you might want to concentrate on building your lats (latissimus Dorsi), posterior deltoids, traps, and rhomboid with lifts like the lat pull downs, standing straight flies (with thumb up to target posterior deltoids), shoulder presses, shrugs, bent over rows/flies, etc. Just want to say you are doing awesome and that you truly are an inspiration as to what one can achieve with knowledge, dedication, and motivation. Keep it up Fiddle. I always look forward to reading your posts. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Meltdown

Take a deep breath...you're only a week post-op...your body is tired, sore, in the process of healing, and it is craving nutrients; the lack there of has everything out of balance. Your emotional toddler tantrum is normal at the height of this post-op healing time. So, go find a quiet place. Cry if you have to. Gather yourself together, take deep breaths, and figure out what you have to do. Do you need to go buy some mashed potato flakes? During this stage I was allowed scrambled eggs. Are you allowed that, with some cheese? What other soft food options do you have? In the calm after the storm, problem solve and find a solution that works for you. You're going to do fine. Before you know it the worst of the post-op dieting will be over and you're going to be rocking that sleeve like its nobodies business! Good luck to you and your journey.

    Pushups versus pullups strength

Push-ups and planks primarily work your pectoral muscles, although other muscles are at work, such as your deltoids, biceps, and back. However, your pecs are doing the majority of the work. Now are the pull-ups overhand or underhand? Overhand targets your back, primarily your lats and secondarily your deltoids. Underhand targets your biceps. Hope this helps. 100 mile challenge

Okay...I'm SUPER behind!!!! Had a 3 day girls weekend (does dancing count?) and I came back with a bug that included headache, fever, coughing, sneezing, runny + stuffy nose, and the chills. I'm going to try 5 miles in the am, and another 5 in the pm. I'll see how it goes. Still at 20 Sent from my iPhone using VST

    September opt date

I've seen many people on here who have lost that and more! The sleeve will not fail...you WILL lose...however, for long term success (like Arts said) you need to conquer your inner demons. It's hard...it's definitely not easy (for example: one of my students gave me chocolate covered pecans, 400 calories for the entire box, it took me the entire day--2 at a time--but I ate the whole thing!), temptation will be your greatest enemy, but you have to be strong and pick yourself right back up when you fall and try harder! Good luck and congrats on your decision!!!!
  12. It definitely changes with solids. Those items you mentioned are sliders. You're going to discover that there are slider foods out there, but meats/fish fill you up quick!

    suffering tremendously..

The back pain was horrible for me personally. However, based on my research, I already knew that was attributed to gas pain. Heating pads were my savior. I sat in my recliner with a heating pad on my back and one on my tummy. Got up and walked every hour to loosen up the gas and get it flowing. Pain was the worst the first 3 days, and it really subsided after the 5th day. Went awat completely before the end of week 2. I still felt it in my left shoulder every time I exercised though, especially that first month. It was only when I exercised...which was weird. Anyway, like another poster said: This Too Shall Pass!!! Hope you fell better sooner rather than later!

    Size 20 now wearing a size 4!

My saving grace were the sugar free Popsicles and Jello. They went down the best and easiest. Water is harder to get down because of the density. I'm almost 11 weeks post op and it has improved tremendously (it goes down best when I'm drinking it during exercise; perhaps the movement helps it go down better) and I find cold water goes down better than room temperature water. I literally survived on Popsicles, jello and Gatorade. As the swelling in my stomach went down and I could eat a little better, I then began to concentrate on Protein. My goal during "hell" week was to stay hydrated and not end up back in the hospital for dehydration. Full liquid phase, loved the cream of chicken Soup, broccoli n cheese soup, sugar free pudding, my doctor allowed a scrambled egg (not dried or over cooked) with cheese during this phase. Hope this helps.
