I was always an athletic and active person up until I had my first child at 21 years of age. When I was pregnant I gained 50 lbs and never ever could loose it. Over the years, and after 4 pregnancies I found myself topping the scale at 278lbs. What a shocker to me when I saw a photo of myself at a Red Carpet event and realized that I looked like an umpa lump. Never in my life had I thought I would be that heavy. That was it for me. I started attending the MOVE program at the VA in Long Beach and the nutritionist informed me that I could qualify for WLS. So I started the process a year ago last month. I finally hit my 5% weight loss goal in March of this year and have rapidly moved forward to where I get to have my surgeon appt and get my date on June 7. I was told the surgery would be in June but I do not know the date yet. I am excited and nervous as I have been reading so much about all the success and the complications.
