I was a very active teenager and swimming was my favorite hobby. But a torn ACL in my left knee changed my ability to exercise and have fun. Getting married at 20 and moving to Japan created a whole world of issues, sadness, and I welcomed comfort eating like a new best friend. Then I got pregnant and ate for 3,4,5 people. I had one adorable child who only weighed 8 lbs. So I was devastated that I remained fat well past my child's 3rd birthday.

Being unhappy in a marriage didn't help either. Each year that I stayed bound to an angry, disrespectful passive aggressive person, who took pleasure in mentally tearing me down, I ate a lot more. Then the attempts to lose weight ranged from Dexatrim, Slimfast, Medloss shakes, Healthy Choice meals, B12 shots, Phen-Fen...I could go on and on. But you get the idea: they all failed. Each time I failed those diets I gained at least 10-15 lbs. Gym memberships, personal trainers, goal gifts (cruise, jewelry, clothes...etc), and so on didn't escape me, yet I gained.

I swore I'd never reach 300 lbs (that's what the ex told me I was going to be one day...I couldn't let his words come true!) So when my last cook healthy/gym/personal trainer/work out for 5 days in a row and document everything I ate only netted me a loss of 3 lbs in 7 weeks, I almost lost my mind. Then I went to the weight loss seminar and heard about the sleeve procedure. There is hope after all.

Today (10/29/13) I am now 13 days away from a new lease on my battle with my weight!! Today I don't feel fear, I feel like a new beginning awaits my body, mind and Soul!
