I'll answer some questions for you. This is why I posted to help others. Lucerna is so relaxing. It was being at a resort. It is so beautifully landscaped. You get shampoo soap and all that, hairdryer.... You get 1 bowl of broth per day and how ever many popsicles you want. The bowl is huge. Maybe take something to measure. I told Dr Kelly that was overkill and a waste. You can eat very little. There is room service but I didn't see jello and gatorade but there is an7/11 type store across from Florence hospital and the Lucerna where you can purchase it. They put 2 bottles of water in your room every day. It has free wifi and if you need to print return boarding passes there is a few computer terminals you can use and print them out behind the check in counter. Dr Kelly only does 2 surgeries a day. He also takes you to Hospital Angelse with state of the art leak test. I felt so good the day after. Dr Kelly and his wife Cece are so down to earth people you don't feel intimidated. Let me tell you, there are a lot of good lookind Drs at Florence. One of the nurses named Fatima looked just like my granddaughter so I thought she was a little special. And she talked good English. Let me know if you have any more questions. Oh, i was out weeding the flower beds today...just a little and walked the dog Look into unjury products..I bought a bunch....chicken soup, no flavor and syntrax nector has sample packets you can purchase. My faves are Choc latte, Choc truffle and cookies and cream. I used them before surgery and mixed with almond milk and ice makes a nice milk shake....oh yeah...don't forget a magic bullitt.

My hubby stayed with me at Florence. I wanted him to see me go thru this. It was very helpful to have him there. He helped me up, kept me covered up, just watched over me. I also felt better having another set of eyes.

We all know that a 800 cal liguid diet you will lose weight. don't think they really need that patch sewn on. That 30 pounds of lost liquid will be right back in a month or 2. I prefer to have my stomach cut so it won't come back.

I had surgery last Thursday May 30th. Is it normal to have your stomach growl? I'm not supposed to feel hungry but I do.

I didn't a prescription but do have some otc. Maybe it is just all of the fluids. I hear it and think I must be hungry.

What is PPI? I'm not supposed to drink over 4 oz at a time right now. I had a 4 oz protein shake this morning and have been sipping on my gatorade. Will eat my other half of jello in a few. I didn't know if growling was normal or not, and I guess I just associate growling with hunger.

Yes, I did research on Juarez and decided differently. I believe the lady that was held was deeper into Mexico than a border town. Believe me, when I get picked up tomorrow I am certainly looking under the seats and in the luggage area of the van. When ever I go on a trip something always happens. This thing with the pot, one of our cruises the night before the Concordia crashed and tipped over, someone died on my last cruise in March, I was supposed to be on the Grandeur last week and am going on it in the fall. I think I need to quit planning trips...although a little hard when a travel agent.

I was a little worried also. Mine is this coming Thursday, but reading up and researching I feel ok. I took all of my info to my dr and he checked it all out and told me the benefits outweigh the risk and to go for it. He wants to see me 30 days after surgery. He is coding it something to do with diabetes, which I have. He said it does have something to do with it. He's watched me struggle the last 20 years with my weight.

I'm almost 55 years old and having surgery Thursday. I was 12 when I started to smoke and quit 13 years ago. I smoked for 40 years. Quitting is very hard. You have to really want to. I tried a number of times. What got to me was we had a temporary crew come in over Christmas at work. There were many smokers. In March when the snow was thawing there were so many nasty ciggy butts in the gravel parking lot. That just really grossed me out. I lived half an hour from work, yet would smoke 4 cigs, 2 at a 15 min break, 3 at lunch etc....It was all in your mind that I better smoke up cause I can't have 1 for 2 hours. I started the first day by cutting out the cigs I didn't need. 2 on the way, 1 at break etc for a week. Well that wasn't so bad....lets cut out 1 going to work, still had 1 at break at lunch etc....took me a few weeks until I was just taking a puff here and there off of the hubbies...which after i completely quit he didn't smoke in front of me. He quit cold turkey a few years later. I feel so much better. i haven't gotten sick in years..hardly any colds. I can really smell it on people now. Sometimes I go into a smoky casino or bar and come out stinking. Seriously, I don't want to insult you smokers...I have been there. But if you can quit, and focus on your new journey of healthy eating, you will feel so much better. Isn't that what we are doing this for??? Good luck to you all....

Starting to get really nervous. Was doing good.....still on liquid diet but my nerves makes me want to eat .....gnawing on popsicles Will be at Florence in TJ Thursday with Dr Kelly. Anyone else going to be there this weekend?

I'm a travel agent. Don't buy with in 2 weeks of travel...the further out the better you are. We also had to pay for seats beside each other (my hubby) as many seats were sold out so the airline wants to sock it to you. Don't forget about paying for checked bags. Use kayak.com . You can put in your travel dates and it will compare all the different sites..priceline, orbits etc...but they are all within a few dollars of each other. You can sign up for alerts so if the price comes down jump...but definately don't wait. The 2 weeks before our flight they doubled.

The first week I was to not eat fast food, cut out sugar, pop and chew my food to a paste. This week I am on liquids...jello, yogurt, protein shakes, cream soups. I have lost 7 pounds thus far. Sure it is water as I run to the bathroom alot.

$5200 for Dr Kelly. Lora got my itinerary and replied right away. I have had no problems with communication.

Glad all went so well for you. Having surgery this Thursday. We purposely scheduled more layover time for this reason. It cost $100 more, but I have used US Air many times, and 1 time they over booked and I had 2nd degree burns on my legs from a severe sunburn in St Kitts. Had to spend a night in Philadelphia.....then the next time we made it clear across the terminal and they had the gate shut. We begged and this guy said our luggage was going to let us on. You think you have time but if a plane is late as ours was...a lady slammed the over head door and broke it so we were 45 minutes late...I also scheduled for the wheel chair service so I could get on the plane first with out stupid people hitting my belly with their bags.

Mine is this Thursday at Florence. I'm on day 2 of liquid. Going ok I guess. Cream soup helping lots.

I am using Dr Kelly this Thursday May 30th. I haven't had a problem with Lora at all. I usually hear back from her within a few hours. I will post after surgery.
